Nestled in the heart of culinary excellence, Sensu offers an unforgettable Japanese dining experience that transcends the ordinary. From the gracious welcome of the owner to the skilled bartenders crafting unique concoctions, this establishment is a testament to hospitality. The Ramen, a symphony of delicate flavors, and the Gyozas, crisp and savory, set the stage for an extraordinary meal. The Sushi, including the Trust Me Roll and Hollywood Sushi Roll, showcased a meticulous blend of ingredients, each bite a revelation of culinary expertise. The Salmon Sashimi, an epitome of freshness, and the unexpected delights of Mushroom Tacos and Crab Cakes demonstrated the fusion of Japanese and Western influences with finesse. The Japanese Ceviche, a harmonious medley of flavors, added a refreshing twist to the culinary journey. The warm ambiance created by the owner and the skilled bartenders enhanced the overall experience. The drink menu, a treasure trove of inventive options, reached its pinnacle with the “Spicy Sai.” The marriage of mango’s sweetness and the heat of habanero whiskey created a captivating sensory experience. Not to be overlooked is Sensu’s impressive Japanese whiskey selection, a refined collection that beckons connoisseurs. The expertly curated pairings elevate the dining experience, offering a harmonious fusion of flavors that complement the exquisite dishes. In the realm of Japanese cuisine, Sensu stands as a beacon of excellence, offering a culinary adventure that marries tradition with innovation. With every dish meticulously crafted and a drink menu that surprises and delights, Sensu is more than a restaurant; it's a celebration of taste and hospitality. Atmosphere: 4/5 As a patron who cherishes this culinary haven, one can’t help but wish for Sensu to expand its footprint. The limited space, while cozy, might hinder the ability to share this exceptional experience with a broader audience. The desire for more space stems not from a critique but from a longing to see Sensu continue providing its excellent service and cuisine to an even larger community of food enthusiasts.

I just finished having lunch here with a friend. It was our first visit and we left very happy and full. We tried the pork gyoza and shrimp shumai dumplings appetizers. The gyoza were fantastic! 🥟 we shared three different sushi rolls including the “Hollywood“, “special effects“ and the “surf and turf“. My favorite of the three had to be the surf and turf. It had both shrimp and A5 Wagyu steak thinly sliced and laid on top then seared with a torch 🥩🔥 The service was great. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. The only thing I would give four stars on is the atmosphere. We sat at a two person table and were very close to another couple that was eating. It was hard to focus on our conversation since I could hear the couple next to me talking also. As we left we noticed they had opened a window to the outside sidewalk where you can also sit at their bar and enjoy drinks and order food. I would have opted for that if offered when I came in. But again we left very satisfied and definitely would return. It’s hard to find good sushi in the area and this place is doing it right.

I had tried this place a few months back and enjoyed everything! I ordered different items today, and I found the food underwhelming. I ordered the trust me roll, shrimp tempura lunch, and the fried octopus. My fried octopus looked like it was over fried or fried in old oil because the coating was super dark and falling off. It also didn't eat fresh as well and found the octopus quite tough. When I ordered the trust me roll, I thought it would be something very different or a 1 of kind roll, but the roll wasn't anything extraordinary. It was a roll I could order from anywhere and definitely didn't have the appeal of it being 1 of kind. All in all, the food was mediocre today and wasn't on par with my first experience. Pricy for mediocre food, but if it's consistently good, I wouldn't mind spending a little extra for it.

If you’re thinking about giving this place a try, I hope you are prepared to wait hours and receive inadequate service.

My family and I waited at the front counter for nearly 10 minutes before being asked by the manager Tereasa if we were still waiting to be seated, which we were.

She told us to sit outside which is where we waited for about 30 minutes before my husband had to go inside to remind the staff we were waiting outside and just wanted to order some waters.

After being seated for an hour our waitress (Hinoko? Can’t remember, she never introduced herself) finally came to take our order at which point she informed us that we would be waiting for another 40 minutes for sushi.

Knowing this, my husband and I ordered sushi for ourselves and teriyaki chicken for our toddler. We requested that our toddler’s food be served first, as it was getting late and she was getting restless from waiting for so long thus far.

In complete disregard to our request, our sushi came out first, about an hour after we ordered. Our toddlers food came out probably 7 minutes AFTER ours.

I can understand being busy, but for the manager AND waitress to not only forget about you repeatedly but also not offer a real apology is wild.

Our waitress ignored us during the time we were waiting to get our food. No offer for refills, checking to see if we were ok, updates on wait time for food, or offers to submit appetizers.

The food was fine, but overpriced and served in small portions.

The only good part of our visit was the DJ for happy hour. He paid more attention to us than the restaurant staff! He was kind and received the tip that would have gone to our waitress had she provided any sort of quality service.

This restaurant is the worst experience we’ve had in Trilith. I’m sure Tereasa will comment saying to call the restaurant to make it up to us- just know that your business would be better off if you and your staff tried making a good...

This should be a 4.5 Star review. Let’s talk sushi restaurants! Located in the beautiful heart of Trilith you will find many tasty restaurants and amongst them yo will locate Sensu. Small cool vibes exterior with a decent amount of occupancy inside. We popped in here w/o reservations on a Friday evening around 5:30 for my husbands birthday. We were greeted and sat immediately I’m assuming this is rare based off of another customers reaction that does dine in regularly to how slow it was on a Friday. Very visibly clean and more casual than I expected (I did over dress in my opinion). The drink menu was full of inventive drinks and I chose the ginger whiskey mule. Unfortunately, I did not like and I was unable to get a new drink without paying a second time. No exchanges if you don’t like your drink too bad, buy another or drink the one you got. That changed my 5 star review to 4.5.

We ordered a table full of fresh sushi. If you think you have tried good sushi you haven’t tried Sensu. I lived in the NW for awhile and Sensu comes close to fresh out of the water sushi. They have outdone themselves. The Sashimi was melt in your mouth INCREDIBLE. The service was wonderful, but the sushi takes the cake. Try this place your tastebuds will thank you.

Cleanliness: 5 Price: For the quality 100% worth it $100.00 for two people with tip - 1 alcohol beverage, Edamame, Miso soup x2 and several rolls Customer service: 5 star Food quality: 5 star Alcohol...
