Now: Fayetteville location re-opened, after a very long time, with a bit more seating and zero atmosphere. No effort was made to freshen up the Stone Mill brand by making it a friendly place to hang ave lunch or coffee. And the blueberry muffin, which had been a favorite of mine for years, seems to now be made with glue. Same for the chicken salad. The sandwich used to be so big that I could only eat 1/2 at a sitting. Not the same now. Bread is gummy, muffins gluey, chicken salad mushy. Please bring back the charm and deliciousness or the original. Stop stressing out the entire staff with catering orders to the detriment of all walk-in customers. Figuring it out should be a priority.
Then: Visited today and had my favorite blueberry muffin there. So good- full of fresh blueberries every time! I got there around 9:40 and it was quiet which I really enjoyed. Lunch time is super busy though! The breakfast sandwiches are really delicious too - like a breakfast lunch!! Lots of baked breads and treats too! The only thing I would improve is the seating area - pretty cramped when the lunch crowd arrives. Thatās the only reason I hold back 1 star, however carry out is a super great option if no seating...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePros: The food was delicious and filling.
Cons: There was no coffee when we ordered it, so had to wait about 10 minutes for it to brew. The prices for what I got (white french toast, eggs, chocolate milk and coffee) were more expensive than what the menu stated for breakfast. I asked why and Mary said they have not gotten around to updating the menu... The menu was paper, how hard is it to print a new paper menu with your new prices? Why have a menu with incorrect prices even on the counter by the register when you "ask" for a menu and are pointed there to grab one? I asked if they could honor the prices on the breakfast paper menu and they said no. I asked again while I was waiting for my food, and the manager told them no. Again, why not make the customer happy with their experience and just honor the prices and be proactive and remove the old menu's from the front counter? This was back on July...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWas hoping for a nice quiet cafe experience to waste some time between classes. I really just wanted some soup and a hot drink. The line was super long and filled with what seemed like people getting catering, the service was fast and the prices were good. However, I waited about 20 minutes to get my order that was all pre-made food. I got a blueberry muffin, chicken and dumplings and a hot chocolate. The only thing that was good was the hot chocolate. The muffin was very dense and yeasty in the worst way, I could only have like two bites. The dumplings were fine but had no seasoning and were very bland. The people there working seem very friendly though.
I wanted to sit and enjoy the food but it was so loud and hectic there with the phone ringing every minute and lots of people I would rather eat in my car....
TLDR: Great prices, nice people, loud, long wait,...
