The Hardware Store — Local services in Fayetteville

After reading the reviews I see attaboys to people leaving good reviews but no responses to bad reviews, but will leave one anyhow. I have purchased things at this store several times, always busy but professional. Today is Monday, I called Thursday to check on price and availability of a 25 hp Briggs engine, gave model , serial and my info. Called Monday around noon to check on status. I understand they’re probably busy. I told first person all details, they said they would find out who was working on my prospective order. On hold, guy gets on and asks if he can help me, I then explain again the details. He says they haven’t done anything with my engine info and would call me back. I have called with questions before and they always seemed to take it seriously even when I know they are busy. This time just seemed annoyed that someone would actually call them. I asked them why I would trust them to call me back and that I would just go somewhere else. Just my take, If you say you’re going to do something but didn’t have time and customer calls back days later to ask about it, don’t ask for info, tell them you don’t know, pass them to someone else without telling them the details so they waste their time asking again, then have an attitude when...

I have shopped at the Hardware Store for years and always consider shopping here first before the big box stores. In fact, I bought a $500 chain saw there within the last six months. But I won't go back after today. I met my wife there today while picking up some saw blades. We decided to get a bite to eat and left one of our vehicles there in an open parking lot for less than an hour. Returned at 6:12 (they closed at 6:00) and they have called the police and are ready to tow my vehicle because some crazy contraption of a gate they have on their porch has to swing across where my vehicle is parked so that they can lock their porch. Note: this is not a closed parking lot. I was just magically supposed to know that a gate had to swing across where my vehicle was parked. I was met with 3 extremely rude employees who told me to expect a call from the police--as if I were a hardened criminal. I have never had this happen at Lowe's. I guess that is where I will shop from now on. I always try to support local businesses, but you can't treat customers this way and expect to keep...

I went and rented a power tool and was asked how long I was going to use it I said for a day (24 hrs). Then he asked if I was going to bring it back the same day and I said maybe. I used it for little less than the one day (24 hrs) . Same day 44.00 1day 55.00. Took it in the next morning less than 24 hrs. I noticed on my ticket he charged me same day $44.00. thinking that if I brought it back when I said I would I would be charged the difference $11.00 plus tax. Nope they charged me the $44.00 plus a 1/2 day rental if $30.00 even though I brought it back in less than 24 hrs. The owner said due to how the computer is set up he couldn't help me, but I would of paid the $55.00 first and then brought it back same day they would of refunded.
