Very sad to write this review but we visited Finns at 8:15 pm on a Saturday night and we were treated very poorly. I worked in the restaurant business for many years and if I treated any customers the way myself and my family were treated I would have been fired. As we came in we were told the kitchen was closing in 10 minutes. The hours of operation say open until 9 pm so shouldn't the kitchen stay open until 9;30 pm? Again, I am speaking from my manager experience from working in restaurants over the years. We were celebrating a birthday and new homes for myself and my daughter but trust me there was no celebrating just nasty glares from the Manager and the staff. We ordered cocktails and dinner very quickly as we we warned that the kitchen was closing. Garrett our server came back and forth 3 times concerning the drinks. First they didn't have the drink we ordered so we ordered something else and then we were told they did have the ingredients for the first drink we ordered. We ordered an appetizer and salad yet they served our dinner first and then brought out the appetizer and salad. The food was delicious but the evening was spoiled. I couldn't stand the nasty glares they gave us during our time there which was 1 hour. We left at 9:15 pm. Now I may be dating myself but there used to be a food critic for the News Journal named Al Mascitti and we were told to treat each customer as if we were being reviewed by him. I have visited the Finns in Bethany Beach just under 10 times over the past 2 years and the service is just sub par. A restaurant can only hide under a good name for so long but it must provide the great customer experience as their customers come in to enjoy a night out and perhaps even celebrate a...
Read moreReviews from the table for the tuna tartar, fried shrimp dinner, fish and chips, fins chiopino, shrimp and grits, oyster shooter, peanut butter pie, tuna nachos, ahi tuna sandwich, and fish tacos
Would get it again: TUNA TARTAR: Amazing! The aioli was absolutely amazing. I could've eaten the chips with just the aioli and would've been happy.
FRIED SHRIMP DINNER: Really good. Shrimp was crispy and the fries were good. The Mac and cheese tasted a little old but it was still good.
FISH AND CHIPS: The fish was very moist. The breading was kind of crispy. Cole slaw was really good. Savory and crunchy.
FINS CHIOPINO: Super incredibly. Lots of food and ended up taking half of it home as leftovers.
SHRIMP AND GRITS: Delightful! Definitely recommend getting extra sauce on the side (another server recommendation)
OYSTER SHOOTER: "Spot on and perfect"
PEANUT BUTTER PIE: Really good and rich. Sweet but not sickly sweet.
Eh. Depends on what your looking for: TUNA NACHOS: 6 chips individually stacked with the Seaweed salad and tuna. It was really good but I don't know if I would consider that nachos. The tuna tartar was more nacho-ey. I should've checked the photos before I ordered.
Wouldn't order again: AHI TUNA SANDWICH: Our server told us the ahi tuna sandwich was always way undercooked or way overcooked. My mom (at a different table) ordered it and the server was completely right. The sear was terrible and it was not even rare, it was blue. However, the server was great and got her something else.
FISH TACOS: The Cole slaw was good, but the fish didn't have a...
Read moreWe arrived at about 6:30 PM on a Saturday evening and it was very busy. However, we were still able to find a table right away. They offer a large variety of beers and ales on tap and in bottles, as well mixed drinks. The bar and restaurant is very well staffed and clean. Seating and tables are also available for outdoor dining as well. Service was fast, knowledgeable and friendly. Although it was very busy, the conversation noise was bearable. I would describe this as a sports bar. There were numerous TVs on the walls throughout the restaurant with may sports games being viewed. The food here is excellent. We started with raw oysters and fried calamari for appetizers. The oysters were excellent and the calamari was not overcooked. For the main courses we had the seafood bake which has flounder, shrimp and scallops, again delicious. We also ordered the local fresh tuna prepared blackened and perfectly. Not overcooked. I had the seafood paella. The best paella I've had. It was filled with clams, mussels, salmon, shrimp, scallops and Calamari. It was prepared perfectly. None of the seafood was overcooked or chewy. This dish did not just fill me up with just rice. There was so much seafood and just the right amount spice. Prices were better than average, only because some of the seafood was locally caught and very fresh. Our only complaint was that the main course took an hour to be brought to the table. I would take away a half star from my score for that reason, if I could. Otherwise, I highly recommend...
