As a former long time patron of Hi-Way Pizza, I'll no longer be giving them my business. Our favorite thing on the menu was the BBQ chicken pizza and before we moved to SS, we'd order it all the time. Yesterday we went to the restaurant and placed an order for a BBQ Chicken Pizza. We paid, got the pizza, drove 40 mins home, opened the pizza... it's a Buffalo chicken pizza. Call the store and say "hey we just got home and opened our box and we received a Buffalo instead of a BBQ" So the guy at the front says "let me go get my manager" and the manager, Brayden, rudely tells us that they stopped selling the BBQ YEARS ago. We were like ok... but no one told us that when we placed, picked up or paid for the order... so then Brayden tells us that just this once, he'll replace our pizza for us but WE have to DRIVE 40 mins to return the pizza they sold us AND return the pizza. And they were going to replace it with a pepperoni pizza... like there isn't a price difference there 😅 OH and I'd have to wait about an hour and a half for my replacement pizza because they're busy, it's a Friday night. 0/10 horrible customer service. Will be reporting the charge on my card, you don't get to charge someone for something you don't sell by replacing it with something that's similar but 99%...
Read moreAttempted to dine here following the Penn State hockey game, last night. The students were out of town on Spring Break. There were approximately seven people in the entire place. Yet, our party of nine, which included four children, were not welcome. They were unwilling to allow us to push two tables together to allow our group to sit together. Worse yet, the hostess’s first inclination was to seat a party with four kids, including a 2-year old, at a series of separate pub tables with chairs without a back on them.
When we asked to speak with the manager, because it hardly seemed like a huge imposition to push two tables together in such an empty establishment at 10 PM, the manager said it’s company policy. That was good to know, because now we’ll avoid all Highway Pizza Restaurants, not just the West College Avenue location.
We wound up going to Home Delivery Pizza, where they accommodated our request to sit together with four children, without resistance. The food at Home Delivery Pizza was outstanding. I’d highly recommend them as an alternative for parties of more than four people or...
Read moreI would give it zero stars if I could. My husband and I were greeted by a college age male who's only spoken words were "So what do you guys want" I respond with "two for dinner "and he seated us. Not a word of welcome was spoken
When our server approached she acted like we were inconveniencing her. It was not late, a few minutes before 7:00 pm.
I ask for a menu and she pointed at a table topper and said that we had to scan the QR code. I asked for a paper meme and she stated that they did not have any.
My husband had ordered a drink. I asked for a check and paid. I did not tip.I advised the server we would be dining somewhere that did not require a cell phone to order
I felt that the staff was rude and disrespectful. I further believe not being able to accommodate a simple request for a paper menu is poor customer service. Even when it is just my husband and I we do not encourage cellphones at the table. We had not dined at Highway pizza in the past year due to job related travel and had been looking forward to the experience. We will not...
