Christine's Cuisine — Restaurant in Ferndale

The food is great as usual!! The server woman with the glasses is not. Her demeanor was just nasty upon us being seated. We still laughed, smiled, and tried to enjoyed our delicious meal. We weren’t loud, and it was maybe one other table with two customers, and we still had to ask for the basics like napkins, straws etc, never came to check on the table. Group of four women 👩🏼👩🏼👩🏼👩🏽‍🦱, I’m the only one that ‘stood out’ and I was the only one willing to keep asking her for things after each friend already had. So maybe she just got tired of Me. One friend had a Groupon (that paid for two people). After billing them first she came back with the remaining bills except she had added my other friends meal to my bill after we clearly told her that we wanted to be billed separately. Luckily, I could cover it and did to avoid further poor customer service we’ve already received from her. After walking out to leave I stayed behind while my friends waited at the door. I politely asked the cashier if I could speak to her to bring it to her attention, the waitress called two other male staff up with her and surrounded me (as if a complaint about her is the norm and has gotten out of hand before, that she needed some sort of security.) I was appalled. My friends waiting by the door noticed and came with me to support. Even after my friends voiced that they indeed told her clearly to bill us separately she responded by saying, “you’re wrong, and it was just a misunderstanding.” She didn't even apologize for the...

My MIL and I originally discovered this restaurant on Groupon. We purchased a deal there because they have some Polish options, which my MIL was interested in. We went and ordered pierogies, potatoe pancakes, dill pickle soup, and borscht (beet soup). We were very disappointed. My MIL has more than 90 years of Polish food experience, as she is Polish on her mother's side. Neither one of us liked it, though she said the pancakes were "okay." HOWEVER, we couldn't help but notice what other diners were enjoying. The salads, sandwiches, and burgers looked AMAZING. It's a very small place, and you can easily see what everyone else has. We were the only ones with the Polish options. We decided we just had to come back and try something else because it was a busy place and obviously popular, but everyone else ordered diffently. We had to go back.

We are SO GLAD WE DID! We got totally hooked on their hamburger and onion rings. Totally! It's been several years since we first ate at Christine's Cuisine, and it is quite a drive for us, but we have been back many times. It is hands down one of our favorite places.

The restaurant itself is small and has the feel of a quieter, simpler time. It's a place you can relax and just enjoy your food. The service is always great. Poor customer service. I am done with this place. I ordered food for the whole office back in November. When I came in to pick it up, it was $30 more than I had calculated. They had recently increased their prices but didn’t update their website. The employee seemed irritated with me for being bothered. I had already collected money from everyone at work. I didn’t feel like I could just leave without the food because the whole office was expecting lunch and I didn’t want to make a fuss so I just paid.

Again, last week I ordered a bomb burrito for myself. (I had previously been told the website was updated) Apparently not. Every item’s price was updated correctly except the bomb burrito? and they charged me $2 more than was listed on the online menu! The employee acted like she didn’t know anything about the website problem but I find that hard to believe since she showed me that it’s also incorrectly priced on their in house menu and they scribbled over the price with marker. This employee was rude and just seemed annoyed that I was even questioning it.

I don’t have a problem with raising prices. I get it. but their online pricing is misleading and they don’t do anything to give customers a heads up until they’re picking up their food and are on the spot. I think they’re hoping people won’t notice and will just pay the higher price. They clearly don’t care about...
