Nick's Pizza is a true staple to the Ferndale/Hazel Park area. I've been going here for now 15 years and don't see it changing.
The pizza is always fantastic. I personally always love the idea of getting just one topping on their pizzas because they are extremely generous with their portions. It's also nice that a pizza place actually consistently cooks their food and you don't have to worry about choosing specific days to order from them.
But don't be fooled into thinking only the pizza is good. Their subs and bread are absolutely amazing as well. I can't speak to the wings or some of the other various items, but it's kinda hard to imagine those wouldn't be just as good as the other items.
Maybe my favorite part of Nick's though is their pricing. It's getting harder and harder to find that marriage of quality and price. Nick's does it harmoniously somehow and I think that's why they continue to thrive.

Read moreI work nearby and we usually get food from here once a week or so. The Pizza is solid and I think the prices are very fair... maybe even cheap for the food you get. I have never been treated rudely, quite the opposite really. They might be short on the phone during lunch time, but I wouldn't call it rude - more like economical.
Put yourself in a pizza place's position. It's been slow all day, then at lunch you get slammed. I guess this carries over to a ton of restaurants, you want to satisfy everyone that comes in quickly, so you can't really spend time exchanging pleasantries to make sure one bitter person didn't get coddled so they write a 1-star review on the internet. 1 Star should be reserved for truly terrible service and food. I am pretty sure that is not possible at...
Read moreFavorite pizza. My son and I were on our way back from a Wings game and he suggested we order. I haven't gotten Nick's in some years because I'm not on 75 or nearby much anymore. My mistake. I had my first Nick's in the early 80's. I ordered a small with my favorite toppings and, although I planned on eating only a few pieces and saving the rest, I wound up eating the entire thing because it was so good. I'd forgotten how good it is. My son, who orders from there regularly now likes the wing dings also. Nick's has an expanded menu with burgers, etc. but I like the pizza so much I doubt that I will ever taste any of those items. It has great access from 75 and, when you leave, all you have to do is turn right onto the service drive and your back on 75...
