Secret Bakery — Restaurant in Ferndale

This is a wonderful bakery. All of their baked food look and smell amazing. Unfortunately I am going to dock one star, because the clientele that frequent this place are very weird, and very rude. It seems all of their customers are yt, crunchy, granola people. They made me feel very uncomfortable. I came here to support a pop-up vendor, and I while waiting in line, multiple people cut in front of me. One woman, who was purchasing bread while I was in line for the pop-up, came up from behind me and said “I was actually in line first, so I’m going to go in front”, then proceeded to buy a TON of items. Then I was cut off my this family who was ogling me while I was clearly waiting in line. They said nothing to me. Everyone was so stand-offish, and acted VERY rude. I just wanted to purchase a croissant! 😩 I was so stunned I could not reply. I just accepted my fate. I barely got the last two things available. I would love to come back and try more things, but the customers here really put a bad taste in my mouth - and I’m very much like them! I would never act like...

I visited here once and what I had was just okay. I had french onion bread with sweet potato and it wasn't as flavorful as I thought it would be. The other item was bread with some flavoring and a egg, but again just not enough flavor in my opinion. One thing that is discouraging me from returning is in pretty much everything they post on their Instagram, no one is ever wearing gloves. I'm not just talking about parts where they are touching the food prior to cooking ( which I know once cooked germs are too etc), but there are videos of handling the food after it's cooked with no protective gear which is turning me off.

Several folks greet me. Smelled very good.

A woman w/ short blond hair comes forward and politely informs me that they will be opened at 9, “in a few minutes”. Says this while tapping her watch.

I check my watch and it’s a 8:58.

My heart is warmed that business is so good in Ferndale! Salute.

If the bakery is still in business next time I’m in town visiting family I will give it a whirl.
