Today’s journey has taken us to Pittsburgh marathon dinner in the airport on our trip. The menu is very detailed and to the selections and also to the traditional it hold close to. Upon walking up to it I was quickly greeted and and asked how I was doing. Not know anything about this place I asked the staff for the recommendation and they said the gyro. Now we have had tradition Greek food and it was on point. So I went with the staff pick with fries. To my suprise they left the salt off for you the customer to salt as you like. That is something that you do not see or have happen a lot. The fries are fresh and not you typical frozen restaurant fries which were on point. So let’s take a trip and dive into this gyro. The tzatziki sauce Is on point and the meat is perfect and flavorful. My readers you know me for picking apart everything with the food and being selective with places I review, but this review I am happy to write about. This food is fresh clean flavorful and leaves want to try more. The employees are on point with knowledge of the menu items. The manager was write when saying they are the best gyros and I will agre after every thing is said and done the trip is worth it and...

Marathon Diner – Pittsburgh Airport Rating: 2/5

Stopped by the Marathon Diner for breakfast at 6 AM while traveling through the Pittsburgh airport. Unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired.

The cashier seemed less than thrilled to be there—a real “grumpy Gus” who made ordering feel like an inconvenience. The register itself wasn’t much better, covered in leftover scotch tape that’s accumulated dirt, adding to an overall unpolished appearance.

I ordered an omelette and coffee. The omelette was passable, but nothing to write home about. The coffee, however, was disappointing—weak and bland, as if they used half the grounds needed for a decent cup.

With so many travelers passing through, you’d expect a more welcoming and professional experience. Sadly, this visit didn’t meet those...

That was unexpected. I almost thought they were closed due to the brick wall in the front which acts as the shield to their flat top and hood. No stanchions for lines so I went to the sub shop first, but the cashier had her arms folded and did not look happy. So I went back and to Marathon and the you lady working the register greeted me right away, AND, was not irritated at all that I needed to read the menu. Cute girl too, win for Marathon to have such a pleasant face at their counter.

Cook was very friendly too. Hard worker and cares.

Went with the Marathon Burger. Again, excellent. I will definitely seek this place out next time passing...

I swear I was attempting to give these men a try it was horrible that their appearance was not all together. They see all sweaty ect. Needless to say I bit down into my Gyro and was chewing on a piece of one of their gloves. Absolutely disgusting and just unsanitary! I am a flight attendant so I literally was just going to by am some dinner and to have to chest up to this inflight! I nearly lost it because my lips and insides of my mouth immediately started itching!
