I called ahead to see if it would be busy. I was told yes but not too bad because they have an upstairs. I asked if we could eat upstairs and was told yes. We got there and the hostess did not greet us. She stood and stared at us. I was taken aback but finally asked politely for a table for two upstairs. She said “it’s full” and didn’t speak to us again. She didn’t ask if we wanted a booth or table, nothing. Someone else came up to tell her there was a table open. Then she walked away, and we followed hoping we would be led to a table. We were led to a tiny table that was too close to other tables. The waitress was fine. Definitely not chatty but she was efficient and filled our drinks. This will sound like an exaggeration but the food was so terrible that my husband said he would rather eat at home from here on out. We go out for birthdays and anniversaries instead of giving gifts but not never again after this birthday dinner disaster. The appetizers were at least edible although the fried pickles are cut much too thick and the pretzel was incredibly salty. He ordered the fish and chips. The fish was bland, it tasted like nothing. Fish batter needs things like onion powder, garlic, lemon, white pepper and old bay. It tasted like water and flour. It did look pretty and golden though. His meal was supposed to come with a side of coleslaw. They gave him a little paper ketchup container worth of it. Which was fine because it was completely dry and flavorless. The tartar sauce was very runny and had no traditional tartar sauce ingredients. It really looked and tasted like mayo thinned out with water. As bad as his was, mine was the worst. I ordered a cod Reuben with house made potato chips. The potato chips were good. The rye toast was burnt black. That was the only flavor. The sauce, fish, and coleslaw tasted like nothing. It was so burnt that my husband who dislikes complaining about food for any reason told me to go ahead and send it back. I didn’t because I thought it would take too long. I choked down half the sandwich and my husband ate a piece of the fish then we left. He had us get a box to be polite to our server. We didn’t eat any of it later. For a 70 meal, I would expect at least...
Read moreSo, I had plans to meet up with a close friend and this was the halfway point for both of us to enjoy a nice lunch together before the weather gets bad, and it was equally about 2 hours drive for both of us. I've never truly been to Findlay, just passed through, so it was nice to check the city and this restaurant out.
Walking in, the place was very modern and nicely decorated. Our host was dressed in a kilt which I loved, and we got seated within just a few minutes. The menu has a bunch of great options to choose from, and I went with the Boxity dinner. This is a salad, potato pancakes, and some green beans. Mike G got the roasted chicken, and we tried each others dishes which we both enjoyed.
My dinner came with some wonderful dipping sauce and it really accentuated my potato pancakes. (I normally eat them with sour cream, but I decided to live on the edge and try something different this time. GASP) Our server for the most part was on point and did a great job of taking care of us. We were there for a while, so she didn't make us feel rushed at all, which we both loved.
Overall this place is not to far off the expressway and a good place to eat if your traveling compared to chains that might be more obvious from the expressway. I think it's about a mile and a half off of I-75, so it's not to far into town at all. I will gladly return here in the future, and thank you Logans for making our time together even more fabulous.
So why only 4 stars instead of 5? The place prefers cash and if you do choose to run your card it's an extra $1.75 (or 3.5%) service fee to do so. In this day and age, I'm surprised because most everyone pays with a card versus cash. Plus, it's easy to spend $15 to $20 here for food and drinks, so it's not like we're charging $2 or something where the credit card company might include a service fee for being a charge under $10. I mean, I get the business aspect of it, but make sure...
Read moreThis was our first visit to Logan’s. My husband and I wanted to try something different for our anniversary in a more casual setting. We are from the area, not sure how we missed this Emerald! We had to wait a while, and the wait was cozy, but we chatted with some more experienced customers, so that was great. We were seated upstairs and we loved the atmosphere up there. My husband said he felt like he was in an episode of Cheers. Now, let me get to the best part, our waitress Sunny. I don’t even want to call her a waitress, she was a gem! She was fantastic! I asked for a drink that the ingredients were more readily available at the downstairs bar. She didn’t put up with my hesitation to find a different “easier” drink. I got my drink! She had a ton of customers but she made us feel like we were the only people there. The food was so good! Since it was our first trip and our anniversary we splurged and tried a few different things. Leprechaun Coins to start - the sauce is delicious. Bangers and Mash for my husband, Wagyu sirloin for me and a side of macaroni and cheese to share. It was all delicious! We have leftovers and that’s OK with me. We will be back and I sure hope we are there on a night we get seated in Sunny’s section! Go! You’ll have a great time and...
