I Tre Mori seems to be hit or miss. When it’s good, it’s really good, but sometimes it really disappoints. My husband and I have visited a handful of times including ordering takeout, and something has gone awry about every other visit. Our first visit was a couple of years ago, and it was amazing. It left us with such a fond memory that it allowed us to forgive some minor shortcomings over the following couple of years. This still would’ve been a semi-decent review even having had those couple of disappointing experiences, but this evening’s takeout order has made me not want to return. I ordered my pizza at 6:19pm. I was directed to arrive between 6:35-6:40pm to pick up my order. Easy to do. However, at 6:23pm, as I was pulling out of my driveway, I received another text alerting me that my order was already ready for pick up. I still arrived at 6:37pm, well within the range given on the confirmation text, with the thought that my pizza would probably be less than great. I’m no pizza chef, but this essentially tells me there was no way they made my pizza fresh because there was literally only 4 minutes between the time the order was confirmed and the time I received the text about my order being ready. I’m assuming “my” pizza was made by mistake before I placed my order or it had already been made and someone had decided they didn’t end up wanting it. Regardless of what happened, it resulted in a truly disappointing eating experience. It was cold and rather stiff by the time I got it home, another sign that it had been sitting there way longer than it should’ve been. Like I said, we’ve ordered takeout before, and it has still been warm and soft by the time we’ve made it home. This whole situation is honestly unacceptable considering the should-be quality of this place. It’s not your average pizza place; the prices and atmosphere reflect that. They pride themselves on their authentic Italian cuisine. It should be fresh and delicious every time. Based on that initial visit, this had become one of our favorite pizza places, but after one too many subpar experiences, and especially after tonight, we will not be returning. It was just too much this time. I’m truly bummed because it’s kind of difficult to find really good, authentic pizza in the suburbs. This place has amazing potential, but they’ve dropped the ball....
Read moreCame in on a Saturday night after Mass at SLDM. Place was pretty busy, but my wife and I were taken to a table for 6 in the bar (which is apparently a newer acquisition for the restaurant) that had 2 people on one end and we were seated on the other. It was a little tight getting to the seat against the wall between the table and folks seated at the bar, but no wait so we were all good.
We started with the Fresca Focaccia (8.99), which was not at all like focaccia I have before. This is their 9" pizza dough folded in half. It's good, but not as good as the focaccia I am used to. However, the toppings that came with the Fresca were excellent, including arugula, tomatoes, cheese, pepper, and olive oil.
We also split their Pizza Parmigiana (14.99), which included mozarella, parmesan, grilled eggplant, basil, and tomato sauce. Their pizzas are all 12" Neapolitan style. It was fine, although to be honest we probably wouldn't order it again. I really like sauce on my pizza, but this seemed a bit on the drier side, which is probably more authentic I would guess. With that in mind, we would probably try other toppings with stronger flavors in the future.
We also tried both their Tiramisu (6.50) and Mille Feuille (6.50), which we had never had before and wanted to try something new. The tiramisu tasted as expected and was very good. The Mille is a layered puff pastry filled with Cream Chantilly. My wife really liked it, I thought it was OK, but glad we tried it.
They also had packed boxes of holiday cakes you could buy. A couple we had chatted with asked the owner about the cake, which he promptly opened it and prepared it right in front of us as he explained it and then cut and served it to the various tables around the area. I thought that was a pretty cool thing to do and is the type of approach that would make us regulars here if we...
Read moreI cannot rate the atmosphere bc I used drive thru.
The manager and drive thru attendant were nice.
Pizza was good, but...and thank goodness I typically check my food bc....
Cons: I placed my order, simple instructions. Yet, my pizza was missing extra sausage and extra chz
When I looked over my pizza before driving off it just pretty much looked empty. So I asked the attendant if that looked like the amount they place for extra sausage, well he said yes. But, having ordered tons of pizzas I'm thinking...uh no¡
So, since I questioned his judgment on the matter, he got the manager for me and the manager was very friendly and said that no it was not extra sausage and and the other topping was not extra and he'd take care of it. By that, he meant they added the extra toppings. No discount for the delay etc. And unfortunately there were still many pieces of pizza that were literally missing sausage. I just don't get it why some pizzeria's think it's appropriate to leave parts of your pizza bald?!
My summation:
Pizza very good, except for missing and scattered toppings.
I doubt I'll ever go back and this is why -
Regardless of the restaurant, if I hv to doubt or be frustrated by the companies ability to follow simple directions (i.e. the food prep person knew they didn't put extra meat/cheese!); Then I return the food w/my concerns and they gv it back looking basically the same; as consumers we're paying for what we want at the price the company requires, therefore, I expect to receive 100% service/quality and especially my meal to be complete.
You hv one chance to impress or turn off a customer. I'm not giving them another opportunity to frustrate me.
Also, they ran me behind schedule because I have to wait on my order to be fixed, I had an appointment I...
