Delicious! Perfect word to start with. Not saying other chicken spots aren't good, but this place takes #1 spot in Fitchburg. Watch the building come back to life in the last few months was refreshing. The owners kept the original booths which was amazing. They are a piece of history in this town with the metal plaques with former residents. The service was wonderful and extremely friendly. Also a plus that it was family ran and owned. Everything was clean and tidy for what you expect in diner. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there. They gave us more than we needed while waiting for our food. When our food arrived it was boiling hot and just this mountain in front of us. Juicy Chicken wouldn't even describe it properly. This man cracked the chicken secrets!!! Plus the chicken wasn't some small little pieces. Fat, thick legs and breast! Not many people are big on coleslaw, but whatever he does it's on point. Mac n cheese amazing! Only down fall was the rolls. My honest opinion is they would have been better a little warmed up. Mashed potatoes were better than most places I'll say. Overall, I'll be calling Royal Chicken before...
Read moreI was surprised to see this new-ish place open at 8pm on a Sunday while driving by, so I pulled in and got some take-out. I asked the guy at the counter to recommend something, and he said the Royal Platter (chicken). I also got some fried chicken and roasted corn on the cob. The wait was brief and now I’m home enjoying this excellent meal that my husband pronounced FANTASTIC! I wasn’t planning to eat any myself but he said it was so good that I better try it. Indeed! The fried chicken is crispy outside but not overly thick. The chicken meat is tender and flavorful. I don’t know what the sauce is on the Royal Platter but it is really tasty! We will definitely be back to try more of...
Read moreHad higher hopes for sure. Son loves chicken so we’ve hit them all. I’ve had all sorts of halal chicken and various middle eastern food. The fried chicken fingers are ok, nothing special. Fries are also alright, nothing amazing (I’d recommend cooking them longer). I got a chicken & lamb over rice…I think the meat is not bad, the rice tasted a bit old (maybe was sitting?). Overall the bowl was a miss, just wasn’t great. He said they had a white sauce that was a tahini but really tasted more like a ranch, didn’t care for it and wish it was just tahini. In terms of the location it’s the old diner with a little paint, and it could really used some TLC as it’s a...
