Me and my boyfriend came to Market Basket in Fitchburg on Water street today and he bought himself a bag of the "ready-to-eat" kettle fried chicken wings from markets kitchen, we found something highly disturbing cooked into the skin of one of the wings, an acrylic nail. It was clearly an acrylic nail due to the fact you could see the French tip. If I had not been there to tell my boyfriend that this was an acrylic nail, he would've thought it was apart of the bone. The manager handled the situation very well as he gave us a refund and a ten dollar gift card for the issue. However food services should be more cognant about the food quality and the sanitation of the food they are distributing to their customers. The food and drug administration clearly defends the idea that employees handling food should not be permitted to wear acrylic nails for this reason exactly, and this got me questioning whether or not the individual handling the food was even wearing gloves. This experience at Market Basket was by far the worst and was completely disgusting and when we returned to market basket to get our money back and the refund we chose to play it safe and to get a...
Read moreI should give 1 star but I'm feeling generous. I went this morning to market basket on water street and a woman who works in deli (kim) was over the top rude to an older man that was trying to order. I was next and when it was my turn I told her that there was no need for her to be rude. ESPECIALLY TO ELDERS. She messed up his order 2x and was saying derogatory things under her breath. I asked for her name as she continued to talk under her breath. A taller woman (11 years employed) came out and was also very rude. I told them both to give me the things I asked for (after repeatedly messing my order as well) and said there is no need. I walked away and spoke to the store manager. He immediately went back to deli. From the looks on his face it wasnt the 1st time he's had to deal with them. It's fine if your not a morning person but don't pick fights with people because your miserable. One day it's going to be the wrong one and it's going to be bad... I hope management fires them. Very...
Read moreWhen you order for pickup and they give you a 2-hour wait? Takes a maximum of 10 to 15 minutes to make a sub. I've even walked in before and had to wait about 20 minutes before even being seen, with very minimal traffic. You have about five to six people behind The counter at the kitchen while only one or two of them are doing anything. Doesn't matter if you take a number, they ignore their customers. I feel management needs to explain that none of their employees should make a customer wait 2 hours for the employee to make $30 from a 15 an hour basis to make a $6 sandwich. Newcomers that try working here in the kitchen. Do not have that expectation. Rather they're drawn out like slaves until they retaliate. Seniority and buddy buddy has to change to obtain professionalism. The woman on the phone had had a horrible attitude as per usual when I had explained the logic behind making someone wait 2 hours...
