Imagine wanting to enjoy a beautiful breakfast out with your father on Father’s Day. To come to a small restaurant and ask if there’s a wait time or if you could just sit down. To then being told by Jenny it’s a 20 minute wait as dishes are on tables and people are sitting there waiting on there breakfast. Knowing there is only one cook and a waitress that’s understandable that there’s a wait time. We proceeded to walk around town for about 20 minutes to walk back into the restaurant and ask again if we can sit down. Only to be met with Jenny the waitress who rudely responds, “it’ll be a 20-30 minute wait!” We proceeded to wait outside the establishment and see 3 different groups of people go in and sit down. Walking into the restaurant for a third time and ask if we could sit down as Jenny responds rudely, “it will be a 30 minute wait and it’s dirty still” not having cleaned up from the last time we went in to the establishment. I then proceeded to say, “3 groups of people came in and sat down, could we sit down?” Jenny responded quite rudely, “no and to wait outside!” Not understanding why we couldn’t and proceeded to ask “why?” is when Jenny raised her voice saying, “we came in 3 times asking to sit down and how busy they were.” When they weren’t that busy to begin with. Trying to have a conversation with Jenny was futile and met with the rudest behavior I’ve ever encountered. When I asked for Jenny’s name and said, “I’ll be happy to write this review of the poor service we received.” While her husband the cook I assume came aggressively towards me and said, “I’m sure you’ll write something great!” very rudely which wasn’t necessary. While Jenny became more aggressive as well we responded by saying, “we aren’t raising our voices.” Seeing that common sense as well as a small decent conversation wasn’t going to happen I said, “I didn’t appreciate this rude treatment.” I can’t believe this restaurant is open let alone has costumers with this type of appalling behavior. I’ve been in the restaurant business as well as a waitress so I know what it’s like being the only waitress in restaurant. But even on my worst days I still had a smile and good behavior towards my customers. Never in my wildest dreams would I imagine raising my voice and arguing with any customer that walked through the door. I guess Jenny and her husband being the owners as well as making enough money to where they feel like they can treat people very poorly is good business in there eyes. Wouldn’t ever go here again not worth the time nor money. Have a great day! Hope your experience was better...
Read more9/22/13Visiting family over the weekend and we went to the Shaker for breakfast on Sunday. We have not been there since the 2 nice ladies sold the business. What a JOKE. Honestly. The worst service. We couldnt even leave a tip- I think we left 35 cents. 3 of us ordered "real" maple syrup. When we had to ask the waitress to bring it after she brought us our meals she brought us 1 single bottle of maple syrup that had about a 1/2 inch of syrup in the bottle. It was enough for one person. When we asked her for more she replied the bottle of pancake syrup that was already on the table also almost empty was real maple syrup and we could use that. It was 1.50 extra per person and she actually charged all of us for it. They brought only half our tables food, then about 10 minutes later the rest of the table. We had to ask 3 separate times for our sides. We didnt even know there were specials until we saw the sign when we walked out of the restaurant. We had to ask for silverware, we were never asked if we wanted a refill on coffee and the waitress had an attitude the entire time she waited on us and the 2 other tables I saw her waiting on. In fact, when I looked around the restaurant there were MANY unhappy people. And the food was about as good as I can make it for myself-- which is pretty bad. There is more but this review is already long enough. We will never go back- doesnt matter if they offer us a free meal to compensate--...
Read moreI would like to share my experience about this place which I love, I used to go often when I used to live in Flemington, and I actually I still love the place, but was a little disappointing this morning because I went there with my friends because I wanted share the good experience I had before with them, we got there at 9:00 and we just wanted sit and have a good moment eating good food, but the person who was in charge at that moment he was really rude, he just refused to give us a service because he said “I don’t have enough help I won’t service until 9:30 because I gonna get help until then” so we just sat there and we said: “alright we won’t rush him and we gonna wait” but multiple times he said “I won’t give you guys a service” and last time he just literally kicked us out, not literal but he meant that, that was really sad to me because I love this place and as I said I just wanted share a good moment with my friends, I made a review in the past a good review and I still thinking their food is really good and your service is excellent, but I don’t know what happened today, I mean I understand when you have more people and you are busy and specially if you are going by self must be a little stressful, I get it I work in a restaurant as well, I don’t think my friends gonna give a second chance but I gonna still going, maybe next time the things gonna be better, thank...
