I placed an online order on 9/11/24 at 11:45am on my lunch break from work. I left work to go pick up my order. It is a 5 minute drive from my job. When I got there, I expected my order to be ready. That I could just walk in, grab it, and walk out. However, when I arrived at the location, the inside of the store was closed due to short staffing. Only the drive thru was open. And the drive thru line was very long. I saw a worker going in, so I rolled the window down on my car and told him I placed an online order, and asked if he would be kind enough to just go in and grab it for me. I offered to tip him for doing so. He said he couldn't and that I just had to wait in the drive thru line. It was ridiculous because I should not have to wait in a long line when I had already placed my order and it was likely just sitting there waiting to be picked up. A short while later, a delivery driver came back and I asked him the same thing. If he would go in and get my order for me, because I was not having my time wasted and my lunch break was nearing the end. He went in and came out a moment later and told me they hadn't even made my order. At this point, it had been almost 30 minutes since I placed my order. After a few more minutes, the driver came back out with my order and I tipped him a generous amount on top of the $17 I already paid for my order. I understand the store being short staffed, but in such a case, they should have shut off mobile ordering if they couldn't handle the volume of orders they were getting in that time frame. I was not the only one who had to sit in a long drive thru line just to pick up a mobile order that should have been ready 30 minutes prior. It was a big waste of time and money. After an hour and a half my sandwich still had not arrived (I should note that I was only .3 miles away from the restaurant.) I called and they put me on hold, I could not wait on the phone because i was at work and it had been way past my break time. So I told the girl my name and just to cancel it, and hung up. About 5 minutes after I got off the phone the driver came In. She apologized for being late, and I just told her that I had cancelled but I would still like the sub since she was here, The driver told me now it was voided in her system and there was nothing she could do. I told her i was upset and not happy. But she walked out with my sandwhich. I don't understand why it took an hour and a half for a sandwich literally it takes 6 minutes to WALK. I also don't understand why they couldn't just charge me again for the sub...
Read moreI've tried having this location deliver to my work twice, and both times it was over an hour long wait, and I had to give on foot directions to my office once the drivers arrived (despite giving them instructions on the order I placed online). I should note that I work at a University that is 0.8 miles away from this Jimmy John's. The first time it took over an hour, the delivery guy didn't have a reason. The second time, the restaurant apparently "ran out of bread", but they waited until it was past an hour to notify me. Both times, sandwich customization requests (cut in half, extra cheese, mayo packets) were ignored. I don't think I'll be trying...
