Big Man's BBQ — Restaurant in Florence

This is hands down my favorite BBQ restaurant now in North Alabama and believe me I’ve tried them all!! I moved from Florence in 2001 to Jacksonville Florida and the one thing I have missed is the BBQ! Jacksonville did not have any good BBQ restaurants until this past year and still Big Man’s out beats the one good BBQ place I found in Jax’s!!! The first thing I do as soon as I arrive in Florence every year to visit family is get BBQ, seriously!!!!

My son and I got the brisket philly’s which were awesome! The brisket was tender and flavorful, cooked to perfection!! His girlfriend got the chicken Philly which was also tender and flavorful!!! We also got the pulled pork sandwich which again was also tender, flavorful and cooked to perfection!!! Even the French fries were great! I hate that they were out of the ribs and slaw dogs. I want to try everything on their menu!! So don’t walk your butt to Big Man’s, run!!!

My family and I decided to try this place Friday evening. We had slaw dogs, bacon ranch pasta, chicken sandwich, pork sandwich, ribs and banana pudding. First, the slaw dogs were not even grilled and they were too big. Then, the “slaw” tasted like sour kraut! It was too thick. There were complaints about the chicken sandwich having tomato and lettuce. The bacon ranch pasta had zero taste. The ribs were fatty and tasted liked they were cooked in a oven. The pork sandwich was decent. The bananas pudding was nasty. It tasted like soup! Overall, this food was horrible. This was not worth 58 dollars! Won’t be back! Do not go to this...

I had ribs, Brunswick stew, smoked chicken, brisket, wings. Not full orders I wanted to try a little bit of all of it was not just good it was fantastic !!! Their homemade sauce for each food group was the best I have ever had ! I cannot wait to try the rest of the menu. If you love good smoked barbecue this is definitely the place to go. Thank you so much to the Cunningham's for having such a fantastic place to enjoy this type of food . I will definitely be a repeat customer for as long as these folks are in business !!!...
