Don Migue Mexican Cuisine — Restaurant in Florence

Don Migue has amazing food! There are so many things on the menu that it’s difficult to decide what to order. I had the seafood appetizer which is actually a dinner salad with seafood arranged on a plate… My spouse had the steak enchilada with molé. We are so excited that finally we have a Mexican restaurant in the area that has actual Molé and it’s great molé! It had Oaxacan flavors of chili, cinnamon, chocolate, which is authentic.

Our only drawback was that although the server was very nice, and after he seated us, a different server came and took our order, when it was time for the check; the server promised to bring us the check right away. We waited patiently and he came back by and said “oh I’m so sorry. I promise you your check is coming right away “ ;and again, we sat patiently for another 20+ minutes before we finally asked a different server to bring us the check please.

Another positive note though is that the owner, an older man, came by several times and asked us if our meal is good throughout dinner. He was very gracious and yes, we will absolutely eat there again. We want to support local restaurants, but we do hope that the service part gets a little bit better; that said, they are new and they were very busy by the time we had...

Griselda has been our girls group's favorite server for several years now at a prior restaurant. She has always been so attentive and super quick with amazing service. When she told me she was opening her own place, I was so excited for her! Sunday was my birthday and my family and I just HAD to go check it out. Being in the old GardenGate building, I was expecting the semi run down atmosphere they used to have, but to my surprise, she had completely renovated the space! She created a new bar area, new counter tops, fresh paint and even brand new custom floors!! The atmosphere is now very inviting, clean and spotless!! The service was amazing just as I expected from Griselda and her staff. And at the end of our meal she even made sure to make my birthday special with a delicious dessert decorated to the 9s, the little blow streamer horns for the whole family, a sparkler on top of the dessert and of course the infamous huge hat! I am highly dissapointed!!! I ordered Nachos Supreme and got it home which is like 5 minutes away and it was cold and very soggy!!! The chips had no taste. The salsa was really bad too. Just almost pure water. My nachos were supposed to come with cheese dip and that wasn’t there either and I asked for lemon with my tea and didn’t get that because the waiter says oh I squeezed it in there and trust me the tea didn’t taste one bit lemony and furthermore who squeezes lemon into someone else’s tea!!! I tasted it because I wanted to see if he’d even done it and as I expected he had not even done that. The food was awful I mean yes I could heat it up but soggy was unacceptable!!! I paid too much for this!!! The quality of food at restaurants has just gone to crap!!! I’ll be taking my business...
