Florence Brewing Company — Restaurant in Florence

The beer and atmosphere were good. However, the website does not clearly address the availability of food. My wife and I were visiting from out of state and knew we would travel through Florence and wished to try the microbrewery. We picked up take out from a local restaurant and when we arrived at the brewery we were told that a kitchen was in operation and we would have to sit outside. We checked the brewery website the night before and there was no mention of a food menu or hours for food service. I mentioned this to a bartender who replied that the food service was irregular and it was never clear when they would be there and when they wouldn't. To be fair I checked the website again and saw one mention of a commercial kitchen in the section on the dog policy. First time customer. The Farmhouse Saison and the American Brown, both delicious. The Farmhouse Saison tastes like honey (like you have a mouthful of honey) before you swallow, on the very front and has a refreshing finish with a distinctive taste on the back, wonderful. The American Brown is just like they described, it is unbelievable. Fresh great tasting craft beer. The fact it is a local brewery makes it even better. I intend to try them all, I encourage you to do the same! You will not be disappointed! I wish they came in jugs like at Bristol in the Springs. I previously home brewed my own beers, so I know something about what it takes to make good tasting beers and ales. Hans (owner) has the best selection of locally crafted brews in the area. They are smooth, full bodied and full of flavor. I prefer his Irish Red, but enjoy many of his other creations. Take your time to read through the list of brews that are being offered and experiment with something different if your curiosity prompts you. His selection changes frequently. Currently, happy hour is from 1 to 5 pm on most days. If you go there on a Wednesday, be sure you tell the bartender that you are local to get the the happy hour...
