Oak Creek Grill And Tavern — Restaurant in Florence

It was a quiet Wednesday afternoon, in between lunch and dinner hour. The service was fantastic, the food was, the burger, rather was MEH! I ordered the guacamole, cheese, and bacon burger. The meat was well and warm, the bacon was cold, the bun was cold and the guacamole thin and processed tasting. My husband ordered the wings and they were VERY good. Yes, I definitely had order regret. My onion rings were commercially frozen and fried, but hey, I like that, so I had no regrets with them. Place is freshly remodeled. The temp was a bit on the warm side for me. The server was very nice. The food came out quick and everyone liked what they got. Flies were definitely an issue. This is the second restaurant in florence I have reviewed where flies were constantly bombarding us during our meal. This is a very wet year in colorado and the bugs are crazy but either way as a restaurant you have to mitigate that. My son commented that he loved the music. Overall it was a good experience and we will likely go back. The price was a bit steep in my opinion. We ordered 3 entrees, 1 kids meal, 3 beers (on tap), 2 sodas and a water for a total of $72. It's not a completely new establishment since the new (previous owners) required it. I can say the Slopper is great, the naked wings are quite good as are their fries. They aren't serving those same seasoned crunchy fries that everyone else (and I mean everyone else) is serving. Their fries are just different, not out of this world but fries I really like as to all the others same ol same. It's the same decor but different vibe.
