Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Florida

Well, we arrived at the restaurant proximately 12:40. We were seated immediately at a hightop table in the bar area. Most of the lunch crowd was getting ready to leave and paying their bills,after they were done the waitress came over and handed us menus asked us if we like something to drink. I said unsweetened iced tea please she never asked if I’d like lemon and sugar my wife wanted nothing. The server brought over the ice tea as if we are ready which we were not and walked away. My wife looked for sugar behind the card in the center of the table. She left it and found multiple dirty napkins thrown in there Which means the table is not cleaned properly. It took us about 15 minutes to figure out what we wanted to eat weight off the two for $32 menu. I had the chicken and shrimp, which my wife asked why she was paying an extra dollar for that her chicken. The waitress said very rudely. Well, you’re getting a lot more food because you’re getting two meals and an appetizer. So my wife said, I guess we’re paying for the spinach and artichoke dip, and the waitress said yeah that’s what we.I ordered the chicken tenders over macaroni and cheese, and we ordered artichoke and spinach dip for our appetizer. This is where the trouble started after the order was placed about 15 minutes later, another waitress walks over and places a plate of onion rings on her table, we advised her they were not ours. She walked away and a huff. About 10 minutes later, our artichoke and spinach dip arrived totally not up to the food standard that they used to have at this restaurant. And about 25 minutes later, our lunch arrived. My wife stated that her onions weren’t cooked and asked jokingly if the kitchen staff was on a break. Once again the waitress got extremely nasty and said it takes 13 minutes to cook the chicken and six minutes to cook the tenders. I don’t believe it takes 13 minutes to cook two chicken breasts about an eighth of an inch thick and the chicken tenders were deep-fried and they were like eating a little pieces of stone. I asked to speak to the manager is this the manager came over and I asked for the business card of the general manager she insisted on me telling her what the problem was and it upset me because I seen her and the bartender who is our server we’re buddies anyway all this took place in about an hour and 15 to 20 minutes and they were 14 people in the restaurant and that was including myself and my wife. I do not recommend this Applebee’s. There are plenty other ones to go to that the wait staff are kind and courteous and the food is hot and good and my macaroni and cheese was like the sprinkles are Parmesan and some cream over some noodles. Applebee’s Review – Disappointing Visit 👎👎

I recently visited Applebee’s with my family for what was supposed to be a relaxing Saturday outing. Unfortunately, the experience fell short in several areas.

Right from the start, the restaurant was uncomfortably hot inside, which made it difficult to enjoy our time—especially with two toddlers in our group. When we asked about the temperature, the waitress casually mentioned the back door was open, which didn’t seem like a great excuse for a climate issue in a dining space.

Our service was slow and inconsistent. It took a while to get our drinks, and my wife’s margarita took even longer. Eventually, the waitress explained she was still waiting to get it made. When our food finally arrived, it came in two separate rounds. Some of us got our meals first, while the rest—including the burgers—came out later.

We specifically ordered bacon on our burgers, and when they came out without it, we had to flag it down. The waitress did bring a plate of bacon afterward, but it shouldn’t have been forgotten in the first place.

There were multiple other small mistakes:

One family member ordered a side of fries that never came but still showed up on the bill. He also asked for lemons for his water, which were never brought until reminded. We had to ask multiple times for drink refills. What’s most disappointing is that the restaurant wasn’t even busy. There really wasn’t a clear reason for the lack of attentiveness and delays.

To top it off, my wife—who usually loves Applebee’s margaritas—mentioned that hers wasn’t as good as usual. That was just another letdown.

We spent over $100 between the seven of us, and it just didn’t feel worth it. Applebee’s advertises “Eatin' Good in the Neighborhood,” but sadly, that wasn’t happening yesterday.

I don’t normally write reviews, but this visit left me feeling like I had to say something. Spending time with family shouldn’t feel this uncomfortable or frustrating.

Updated 12/10/23 9:25pm I visited this restaurant today around 3pm, as soon as the waitress took my order I told her that last time I was there the chef didn't cook my steak correct, she said she was going to tell the manager so he makes sure there's no mistakes today. When I received my dish the steaks temperature was cooked incorrectly, and I was missing the shrimps, I told her that it was cooked incorrectly and I asked her did you tell your manager about this and she says yeah but I didn't tell the big manager so she said she was going to tell the big manager about the error that was made today and she took the steak back. I waited maybe 20-30 minutes, when they came back with my steak it was perfect but when I bit into my mashed potatoes they were Raw pieces in them, I told her about it and she said that that's how they cook their mashed potato, I let her know that that was my favorite dish and I've eaten it thousands of times and the mashed potatoes don't have big pieces that are raw in them, before this when the manager came to bring me my plate he didn't even apologize he just told me to cut into the steak to see if it's correct I had a really bad experience today at Applebee's and I will not be returning to this Applebee's for that reason I rather drive an hour away.

When I was sat down the waitress that came had a face, then after the food was brought to us she never came back to check on us, the food I ordered had missing items but I couldn't get her help. The whole time I was there the bar tender and some customers at the bar where extremely loud and abnoxious. I miss my applebees, too bad it's pretty far but I still won't go back...
