So normally we have no problem visiting an Applebees location, but yesterday 12/14/22 was a terrible experience. My wife and myself decided to visit this location with my daughter who is 5 years old and our brand new puppy who is around 7 weeks old because it’s dog friendly. We were told to sit outside, we were first informed that they were short staff and only had 3 waiters, we had no problem with the wait we understood, we decided to just order our food ahead of time because the waiter told us he just had a table of 9 arrive. That’s when things turned left, after ordering our food and waiting we noticed that there Were a large amount of mosquitoes over our head, as-well near us was a family of 3 with a new born and they were packing there stuff due to the large amount of mosquitos build up in the patio outside where we were waiting. I informed the host that if possible since we already ordered our food can we sit inside in a corner because the large around of mosquitos build up outside and I informed her that my daughter is allergic to mosquitos and she swells up when bit, the host said she would talk to the manger. After waiting a few minutes and smacking the mosquitos around she returned and said that because my dog wasn’t a service dog we couldn’t come inside, not once was were asked if she was a service dog, she assumed and then they assumed we would just sit outside and get bit it up while waiting for our food, we asked for the manager and not once did she take time to come outside and talk to us, our puppy did nothing but sleep the whole she was there, it’s on camera. There was no solution to try and help us, I felt like it was either “eat outside and deal with the mosquitos or go home”. Eventually we had to make the decision to leave because I could have my daughter and family in that situation, while my family waiting in the car we were given our food and my daughters meal was completely incorrect , they didn’t not put the chicken we requested and did not give her fries that were a side, after going back in forth in the restaurant we noticed that the employees acted as if they did not want to help us and were very condescending . What bothers me is that the manager never took the time to come and speak to us or even re assure that things were ok. After arriving home we checked and all of us were bit by mosquitos and now my daughter has to deal with the allergic reaction because the restaurant did not care to help us in the situation. The patio doesn’t have a screen or anything to prevent bugs and animals from entering. The host was not the problem she did her job it was the manager who did not even acknowledge the situation, that’s not how you treat people, no one should sit outside and...
Read moreFirst off i never write reviews but felt compelled to on how insulted i felt at this restaurant. If i could give this location a 0 i would.. Bartender and manager very impolite. I went to the bar to get a drink and the bartender told me she would not serve me because my id was peeling on the corner..(by the way i was not previously drinking and it was 5pm in the afternoon) 1st she asked me what i wanted to drink and i said the monthly special.. then she asked if i wanted a menu.. right as she had my id and i said no thank you to the menu she said she would not serve me.. I got the feeling they dont like serving just their specials because they dont think people will tip.. i am a generous tipper who leaves atleast 20% everywhere i go and on specials 100% depending what the special is lol. Needless to say i felt very insulted..I am a middle aged gentleman 34 and was obviously not 18 looking to get a drink using a fake id.. i asked the bartender to scan it and she said they do not have a scanner. I have never in my life got refused a drink or into a bar because of my id. The manager Mary Farrar then came over and did not really even look at my id or cared what i had to say. She looked at it and just told me we wont accept it.. I was at this same restaurant 3 or 4 times in the last month and a half and was not denied a drink because of the condition of my id which has looked the same for about 6 months now. I dont feel that this a good business practice as being a reputable restaurant chain. Needless to say the area manger Moises is an awesome manager who understands customers and deserves his position. I was going to give it a 3 star just because of how understanding he was but then someone would skip over this review and may get mistreated at the actual restaurant. Bottom line you go here with a peeling id in the corner and you may be...
Read moreLet me start off by saying, I like eating at Applebee's, and I prefer the Valrico store over the others around. After saying that, I took my mother for lunch today. We ordered our food, and we got it in a timely manner. We both ordered the won ton tacos and PR&BR dip. As I was eating the rest of my coleslaw, I bit down on a piece of glass. I spit out my food & the glass and told my waitress Julia A. She went and got the manager Gretchen Busweiler. I told her what had happened, then my mom noticed the bowl was broken. The manager had the nerve to ask me if " I did that." She then automatically took the bowl and piece of glass back towards the kitchen, and came back to write my information down. I asked her where did the bowl and glass go so I could take a picture of it. She then said "I threw it in the trash" Is that standard procedure? I was still in disbelief of what just happened. Like I would chew on the bowl or something. The fork couldn't done it. I couldn't believe how she responded to the situation. I took pictures of the cameras around my area, so if you need to look to see if I did it. She kept going back and forth to the back, then she finally came back out with the bowl and piece of glass that I bit into. Funny my coleslaw was still in it, she didn't throw it away. She lied straight to my face. I paid my bill and tipped the waitress even though this happened. Now I have to go see my dentist because my tooth is hurting and maybe chipped. That consist of me taking off work loosing a days pay, along with whatever they have to do with my tooth. Your manager needs more classes on management, on compassion and amongst other things. So I don't know...
