The cozy, rustic decor, reminiscent of a country store, is filled with antique Americana, creating a nostalgic experience that transports you to a simpler time. The wooden rocking chairs lining the front porch provide a perfect spot to relax while waiting for a table or just to enjoy the Florida sunshine.
The service at this location deserves high praise. Upon entering, I was greeted with genuine smiles and promptly seated. The staff was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure my dining experience was exceptional. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu, offering recommendations and personal favorites that did not disappoint.
Speaking of the menu, the variety and quality of the food at Cracker Barrel in Valrico are outstanding. I indulged in the Homestyle chicken plus pancakes and it was a decision well made. The pancakes were fluffy and perfectly golden, accompanied by crispy bacon and pure maple syrup. The coffee was freshly brewed, complementing the meal wonderfully. My dining companions enjoyed the "Old Timer’s Breakfast" and the "Country Fried Steak," both of which were met with rave reviews for their flavor and generous portions.
What sets this Cracker Barrel apart is its commitment to maintaining a high standard of quality across the board. From the freshness of the ingredients to the presentation of the dishes, it’s clear that attention to detail is a priority here. Additionally, the value for money is impressive, with reasonable prices for hearty, satisfying meals.
After our meal, we explored the attached country store, which is a delightful bonus to the Cracker Barrel experience. The store is a treasure trove of unique gifts, nostalgic candies, and classic country-themed decor. It was a pleasure to browse through the well-curated selection, and I even found a few keepsakes to remind me of my visit.

Read moresetting the tone here with: cracker barrel is one of my go-to safe restaurants. for me personally i like going here when i want something with homemade vibes, but i just don't feel like making anything. i live very close by to this specific store and have visited over 10 times. i never even write reviews really but i saw an email to fill this out and i felt like well since my last experience was the worst i've had and i'm seeing this review that i may as well .
so boom we get to the table - and like i said i'm a frequent cracker barrel goer so i did not need any time to look at the menu for myself nor my 5 year old son . i told the waitress i wanted the grilled chicken tenders with the melted cheddar cheese on top meal with the 3 sides. the sides i ordered were dumplins, mac and cheese, and corn .
i knew i wanted my biscuits before my meal, and that's never a prob always get them every time right after drinks but for whatever reason tonight she brought out the biscuits as the same exact time as my meal .
i didn't even get a chance to ask for the biscuits bc right after i ordered - she was bringing both over .
not a HUGE deal but for someone that LOVES the biscuits but doesn't have room / doesn't like to eat something sweet while eating dinner - ir made me see red a lil .
NOW THE FOOD ??????? like there was literally no way. i wish i woulda got a picture but i was so overstimulated and mad that my son kept dropping the lil pegs for the game on the floor like i was already seeing red in my eye balls.
the chicken , if you ever got grilled chicken tenders from cracker barrel i dont need to say how that was. it tasted how it always tastes which was the only good part of my meal. the cheddar cheese that was put on it was also cheddar cheese SHREDS instead of the USUAL cheddar cheese slice so that through me off as well . and i mean not in a good way.
the dumpins and mac and cheese were LITERAL dumplin soup and mac and cheese soup . there was so much liquid i couldnt even eat it bc i have texture problems . NO SALT , no flavor - just runny disgusting SOUP of dumplins . disgusting .
my corn tasted ok but only bc i added my own butter and salt .
overall i will not come back to this location ever again . there wasn't even a manager in site that i could bring this issue to which is why i feel more compelled to type this all out.
ALL IN ALLLLLLLL : if you go here do not expect for it to taste like what your USUAL in your head cracker barrel is supposed to taste like. its giving we have a new chef , its giving NO EFFORT .
it felt so awk and strange and not homey and vibey like cracker barrel usually does for me personally .
i would just go to another cracker barrel in the...
Read moreIt was the holiday rush so I can partially understand, but their communication issues do not seem holiday specific. Placed a take out order, arrived and it was not ready, no problem. The place was an absolute zoo so I was fine waiting. Every 10 minutes the two guys working the register would go back and check on it, after 30 minutes past the expected time I was a little frustrated but kind with the staff. At 50 minutes a customer walked in and wanted to place a take out order and they said they could not take any more for the evening and he was upset. I tried to make him feel better and explained it was probably due to the kitchen being so behind and my take out was over 50 minutes late. A staff from the back was passing by, overheard this and said What! Then took my order info and came back 2 minutes later to tell me the Chicken and Dumplings I placed ran out an hour earlier and that was why my order had not come out. So apparently both guys working at the register never asked any questions for those 50 minutes that they kept checking on the order and the people in back never worried about the order still open and not able to be filled. They called the Mgr. over to talk to me, she came over and simply said, "yah we are out of that" I asked if she would please make something else then as everything else would be closed by the time I made it anywhere else. She was nice and said oh yes, sure. But never really seemed to apologize or care about the mix-up or inconvenience, didn't offer me anything, like a dessert or a drink while I waited, just was matter of fact. I'm sure she was being beat up that night and I did not want to add to it. I was very nice but have to say, not great communication or customer service at this location and seems like it could easily happen when it is not busy. I gave the atmosphere 2 because someone there does not know the proper way to put out the fire. Entire restaurant and gift shop was filled with smoke the entire time I was there. I heard people asking if the flue was closed and to please not seat them anywhere near the fireplace. I came home and my husband told me I smelled like a campfire and I was only in the...
