First visit was amazing even though it was a bit hot inside. Second and final visit, not so much. First, placed order online and totaled it. Nowhere did it say I was going to be charged a "convenience fee" of $1.50. Convenience fee for what? You didn't have to answer the phone. Anyway... Pulled in and as I was walking to the front door, the garbage can right in front of their entrance had something that smelled DEAD in it. Told the girl inside (nicely) that there was an awful smell coming from the garbage can right at the entrance. Her response? "Oh that's not the garbage can. That's the area (gesturing with her hands)." So Valrico smells like something died, now? Ok. So I said, "well that's funny because I didn't smell it until I got to the door.
Back to the "convenience fee". When I questioned her about this fee, she said that "they" charge it for you to order. Huh? Who's they? Apparently the website charges it. But the restaurant gets it? Weird. She said to call in next time. I said I shall because I don't want to get charged a convenience fee. Then the woman next to her (maybe the owner?) said "We charge that fee if the food total is under $20." Wait, what? So, we the people, are going to get charged a "convenience fee" if we don't order enough food?? Am I missing something here? I will not be going back. The food on this visit was not good. So much for convenience fees!
Side note: I didn't call because I'm in an open vehicle and wouldn't be...
Read moreThe best thing about my order from here was the delivery, fast and courteous Ty Door dash!
Our order was Shrimp fried rice with egg which looks ok, however the white rice was over cooked, Sweet n sour shrimp, which I would have preferred with the tail removed rather than sharp brittle dryass fried tails I have to remove. Which I was trying to tolerate until I ate one that still had the complete shell on it. The sweet n sour sauce was ok but on the runny side and didn't really cling to the shrimp even after hacking off the tails.
The house duck sauce is good unfortunately they didn't send the 5 shrimp eggrolls I ordered to eat with it so that was a wasted additional charge for the sauce.
They did "substitute" the 5 shrimp egg rolls with 2 shrimp spring rolls and charged me 3.00 for those which neither compares taste wise or portions. Not to mention we don't eat spring rolls..... or I would have ordered those to begin with
The one regular egg roll we ordered is the same size as the spring roll A gooood egg roll is twice that size.
On a positive note the soda's were cold, the crispy noodles weren't stale which is great because that's pretty much all I could eat and they were generous with sauce packets... I"ll enjoy the next time I order Chinese from somewhere else.
I can't understand why this place has such good reviews the only thing I can think of is the standards for Chinese food in Florida is so incredibly low that this...
Read moreAfter reading the reviews and trying to find a decent Chinese takeout in Florida (impossible), I really wanted to like this place, but.... I ordered the General Tso Chicken, it didn't even resemble or taste like any I've ever had. From my experience, it should be in a sweet/spicy 'glazed' brown sauce. This was a dry, red, somewhat sweet, plain tasting dish. After ordering, I stood at the counter a couple more minutes to watch the cooking. The lady that took my order had taken a couple more orders after mine. She went back and pulled a large container from a small refrigerator unit and took out sliced chicken for cooking. As she was taking the chicken out, I noticed the chicken was dripping that 'syrupy slime' that chicken has. (You know that 'slime' chicken has when it has sat...
