Not bad but needs improvement. Having eaten Arepas all my life, I can opine on one I purchased as a trial, a simple Arepa with Guayanes cheese. Considering I live only two minutes away when I ordered it inside the restaurant, it was cold. I thought at least it would be warm. It was too chunky and messy to eat and the Arepa to thin to hold the fillings. The cheese was in pieces instead of melted. The restaurant is small and cozy, clean and friendly but no pictures on the menu and no menu for take out. Their suggestion? Look it up on google. This is not convenient as I have a large family. The biggest gripe were the Tequeños (cheese fingers). They were terrible as they tasted as if they were fried in old oil or the oil was used for something prior. Arepas come PACKED with filling, reminds me of home. Good presentation, good ingredients, good variety (vegetarians and vegans needn’t fret).
Haven’t tried the cachapa yet but I bet they’re fire too. I’ll try them next time, as I’m DEFINITELY coming back.
