After reading a lot of of wonderful reviews and because they were open on Christmas Day, I decided to check them out. I really enjoyed the food here, but the atmosphere, not so much. The bagel sandwich I got was delicious. The interior of the restaurant could use some cleaning and deodorizer (cigarette smoke from back in the day?). The crowd this morning seemed to consist mostly of retirees, bit they knew each other and were probably regulars. We were passing through, so we probably won't be back. Mr. Marcus the owner is welcoming . He's the nicest person. He makes the best blueberry pancakes in the world! Mary Ellen is wonderful. Everyone loves her service. She knows everyone's preferences for food. C.J. is such a good cook. The people have been coming for years. I love all of them and like family there are always surprises and even bickering.
