I've never given anything other than a 5 star review to places on Google reviews. I'm the sort of person that if something is good, I'll give it 5 stars, share something nice, and go on with my day. If I have a bad experience, I just won't go back but never bother to take the time to leave a negative review.
But, the experience I just had has warranted my first 1 star review, so congrats on that.
We had visited Bahia once before. It was okay'ish. The meat was all well done, but we chalked it up to us coming during non-peak times and overall it was just an average experience (hence no review).
We decided to go back for my best friend's birthday and I'd just like to detail how the night went for us.
We arrive, the hostess brings us to our table. We wait for about 20 minutes with no server paying us a visit. I end up walking over to the server's station to grab water and pour it for us. I go grab some plates from the salad bar since no one seems to be helping us, eventually we at least get some meats, and to be fair the gauchos actually did a great job. So we've been there for about 30 minutes at this point, still no one has come over to take drink orders or bring appetizers. I go over to a waitress and ask, "Hey, who has our table? Because we've been here for around a half hour and no one has come over." She apologizes and says she'll find someone. Another 10 minutes pass. I ask a gaucho if he can find our server. He goes over and talks to someone. Another 10 minutes pass. Finally a server from the other side of the restaurant comes by and takes our drink order, and we think, alright, well, maybe we're finally on the path to having a good dining experience. Our new server actually did a reasonable job considering she had to run across from the other side of the restaurant to help us, but then when it's finally time to pay our tab, I hand her my credit card and when she brings the bill back I see that she's charged us double the price ($410 for a table of 3 where only 1 alcoholic beverage was ordered). I bring it up to her and takes her like 20 minutes to resolve the problem.
I would 100% avoid this place. Again, I have never written anything other than a 5 star review on Google in my life (well, I guess when the airlines screwed us over during Covid, and this one place in NY that literally stole a business from someone, but I mean like an actual review of a restaurant based on the experience there) because I tend to be a pretty easy-going person that just takes everything in stride, but this place really managed to ruin my buddy's birthday evening and the service was atrociously...
Read moreHello guys, to all of the futur customers, or for those who are thinking about going to this location, here is an honest review. We went there yesterday with my wife, it was amazing. This is for now the best location from the 3 Brazilian Steak house we went to. They opened 4 months ago, and tbh they will be crowded really soon for sure! Let me explain why. The vibe is good, the restaurant look really good, fancy and clean. The staff is really friendly and polite. Our waitress was really nice, the guys bringing the meat to your table were very friendly and they always smile which is really cool! The owner looks very friendly too. Yesterday they had a section with a photo shooting of their menu, and everything they were shooting for their website, was going into our plate too! We really loved that, because it showed us that they don't fake the actually food. What you'll be able to see on the pictures is exactly what get in your plate. Amazing fresh and tasty meat and salad bar! 😁👌🏼 If I can give a little advice as I told our waitress, it's not huge, but can be bad for some people. The people that are cooking the meat or other stuff need to take it easy on the salt lol, the mashed potatoes were very salty and the meat was very salty too (only the beef tho) but still delicious! It's not huge, but we are very picky with our food lol. Besides this, everything was delicious I can't wait to go again! The chicken wrapped in bacon was insanely good! Same for the pork, the beef, the lamb etc... everything was juicy and tasty, we really loved it! The Pan de queijo is the best I ever tried, so fluffy and cheesy omg 🤩 We do recommend this location for the quality, the freshness, the vibes, the music, and how friendly the staff is there. The restaurant looks fancy and it's really clean! Also the price is better than the other brazilian steackhouses. 👍🏼 I hope they will take it a little bit easier on the salt on the beef in the near future lol, but to be honest this location is a 5 stars Easy. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you guys for being...
Read moreI recently visited Bahia Churrascaria in Tampa for their weekday lunch service, and as a Brazilian myself, I was pleasantly surprised by how authentic the atmosphere felt the moment I walked in. The décor, the vibe, and even the staff dressed in traditional gaucho outfits really captured the spirit of a Brazilian rodízio steakhouse. It reminded me of well-known spots like Fogo de Chão and Terra Gaucha, but at a much better value.
The service was excellent, warm, welcoming, and attentive from start to finish. The servers brought out a wide variety of meats carved tableside, including picanha (my personal favorite, perfectly juicy with its signature fat cap), garlic steak, chicken wrapped in bacon, and flavorful Brazilian sausage. The salad bar was also impressive, offering everything from fresh veggies, cheeses, and cold cuts to traditional rice, black beans, and farofa (toasted cassava flour with seasonings).
A few things were missing that most Americans might not notice, but Brazilians will: no pão de queijo (cheese bread), no chicken hearts, and no coxinhas or other croquettes at the salad bar. I also asked about desserts and was disappointed they didn’t have mousse de maracujá, which is a classic. Still, Brazil is a huge country with diverse regional cuisines, and Bahia’s menu focuses more on the southern churrasco tradition rather than Bahian specialties like acarajé or moqueca. The name “Bahia” might be a little misleading if you expect northern Brazilian dishes, but for the average customer, this won’t be an issue.
Pricing is very fair compared to other steakhouses: lunch is around $30 per person, while dinner is about $50 (still far less than the $90–$100 you’d spend at Fogo de Chão). I went for lunch this time, but I’d love to return for dinner to see if they expand the selection in the evenings.
Overall, Bahia Churrascaria offers a fantastic Brazilian steakhouse experience, excellent service, and great value, especially at lunch. I’ll definitely recommend it to friends and family, and I look forward...
