Beef 'O' Brady's — Restaurant in Florida

Friday afternoon my wife and I went to Beef 'O' Brady's at 24901 Sandhill Blvd UNIT 14, Punta Gorda. It was the first time that either of us visited a BOB's so we were excited to see how they were. We had seen several TV ads featuring this chain and they looked good. The first thing I noticed was that there was a large outdoor seating area which was covered. We went through that area to enter the main building and were very impressed by the spaciousness and brightness and cleanliness of the main area. It was large and covered with wide screen TVs. I guess that comes in handy for a sports bar. One of the TVs was advertising the live music they have every weekend , I think starting at 7:00 PM. We were greeted as we came in and were led to a booth. Our server came and asked what we would like to drink. She gave us the menus and we looked through them as we waited for her return. We noticed that the special on Friday was a Fish Fry that included Coleslaw and Fries. We both decided on that. I also ordered a side of roasted corn, just to try it out. The food arrived after a short wait and it was delicious. The Cod was crisply covered by a thin batter that was not oily. We got 3 good size pieces of Cod with a lemon wedge and a very unique-tasting tartar sauce, By 'unique' I mean memorable in a GOOD WAY. I'd take a gallon of that any day. The Fries were fries. I had to order the Curly fries with their seasoning. It was good. I also ordered the roasted corn, which was good but not wirht $4.99. I will try something else next time. Overall we were delighted with the Service from Brittany and the food and the whole experience. We would definitely go back and try another section of their extensive menu. BTW, while there is plenty of parking, the spaces are tight and depending on the time of day, there can be quite a bit of traffic on Sandhill Blvd, so be patient. The restaurant itself was average, my food was okay, my husband was less than impressed. I don't expect perfection but this was the worst service I can ever remember having in my life. Our server acted harassed/bothered by having to take care of us during every interaction.

The server initially came to take our drink order right after we were seated, but acted irritated that we didn't know what we wanted. Low and behold, there was no beer menu in the pile of menus we were given when we were seated. Once the drink menu was provided, we paused a moment to peruse the extensive options. The server briskly excused themselves for another table. That was fine, but the attitude that we were taking too long after having just received the menu really wasn't. The server acted put out taking our drink and food orders. I get being busy, but every interaction was the same.

The server essentially ghosted us after taking the food order. Someone else delivered our food, and my husband was missing some items. Never came by to check on us and we had to flag down the hostess who happened to pass to get his missing items. Finished our meal, during which the server zoomed past several times without so much as a glance at us. We sat there, table cleared in front of my husband by the same hostess, my plate 80% empty and hands folded, waiting for our server to make an appearance to get a box and the check. At one point the server passed slightly slower, glanced at us and I opened my mouth to ask for a box. The server made a dismissive gesture and muttered "you guys are set" and before I could utter a syllable, was gone again. Sigh, back to waiting.

I contemplated just going to the bar to ask, but the server finally returned to us, immediately launching into exclamations of how very busy it's been. Finally got me a box and delivered the check. Oddly, other servers around us seemed to be able to check on their tables occasionally. Won't...

The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the wings with Bum Bum Sauce and Sweet BBQ. The Bum Bum Sauce was a revelation – a perfect balance of heat and flavor that tantalized my taste buds.
