The Birthplace of Beef's!

Walking into this Beef's recently with a group of my best friends brought back a LOT of memories! Memories of walking into the ONLY Beef 'O' Brady's in existence and being greeted by its founder, Mister Jim 'Beef 'O' Brady's' Mellody! Those were some wonderfully wild days of wingin' it!

It was especially heartwarming as we entered, to see a large portrait of Jim Mellody on the wall just inside the door. I looked up at that picture and commented "Well Hello, Jim!", followed by hearing a voice asking "Did you know my father?". As I turned my head, we were greeted by a young man who introduced himself as Sean Mellody, saying "He's my dad!". THAT was really cool! All of us had personal remembrances of Beef's creator that we briefly shared with son, Sean. Awesome stuff!

Of course, most of us ordered Traditional WINGS with Beef's Signature Buffalo sauce. I ordered mine as I always have, just a bit crispy with a side of Ranch! What I got was EXACTLY what I remember getting on that very first way-back-when Beef's visit. That was some of the best two-handed chicken wing saucy gnawing ever! As I looked around our table all I saw was happy campers with 3-year old messy faces! YES!

My fine group did order something that wasn't offered back in 1985. Fried Pickles. Man! If we'd had those back then along with the wings, Mr Mellody would have renamed the place Beef OHHHHHHHH Brady's!!

Sometimes Nostalgia plays a dirty trick on us. That saying, 'You can't go back home', comes to mind. But, as we were breathing in this original Beef's atmosphere, remembering the tables are a little crowded, and reliving bulky tube TV's blaring ballgame cheers, all things became clear. This little cradle of Beef's infancy still brings comfort and comfort food to Beef's alumni, old and new....

Picked up an order for an Uber eats customer lastnight and by far received the worst customer service imagined from the staff there. Had to go to the bar area to pick up the customer order and the 3 women that stood behind the bar having casual conversation with one another and with the gentlemen customers who were sitting at the bar. All three, at different times, glanced at me directly and resumed their conversation without even greeting me. It was a little after 8pm, at that time the place wasn’t too busy to not notice a potential customer whom stood directly in front of them. I waited patiently before grabbing one of theirs attention in order to start the process of grabbing the order. After finally receiving the customers order I asked the same lady from the bar who handed me the order for a receipt or anything showing what the order was for verification purposes. She instantly catches an attitude and in a real snappy manner states that “there isn’t anything to give and that Uber eats doesn’t request that kind of stuff.” Shortly after she assists with verifying by reading off of the order entry screen.

It would hurt to imagine, it being 2023, that I didn’t quite fit a certain description in order to be given appropriate and prompt customer service but that is what the service/ lack of service was giving at Beef...

I don't often leave bad reviews, I think this is my second one ever. We went to Beef O Brady's for dinner tonight..... what a mistake! There was maybe 3 other tables besides ours. The waitress Erin sucked, damn near threw the moz sticks on the table like you toss a frisby so she could hurry up to the other table and sat down to calmly take 10 minutes to take their order. The wings were blehhhh, had no color, oh wait yes they did they were orange from the sauce ... the skin was soggy in a lake of sauce. The mashed potatoes had dried crusty spots, wasn't put under a broiler mind you I mean come on!! How do you mess up instant pearl mashed potatoes?? The Ribs were good but they weren't cooked in house so how can I really give them credit for being smart enough to open a plastic pouch and nuke a half rack of ribs!! I had one chicken wing the rest I brought home to cook them more for lunch tomorrow. My boyfriend almost always tips generously sometimes about half of what our total bill is, this girl wasn't even worth the 15% we left!!

Last night we went to Kobe sat at an hibachi table with 5 children and 3 adults that weren't with us and had a much better experience than we did tonight and the food...
