Update: We went today with our son for lunch. This was the first time we've gone to Bob Evans for lunch and we were not disappointed. Food was excellent! Service by Julia was outstanding! 10 out of 10. Hi and see for yourself! **My wife and I visited the Bob Evans Restaurant on El Jobean this morning. First time there. We were very pleased with the location and with the cleanliness and layout of the building. It was easy to find parking and easy to walk in and be seated. Once in, we were greeted by one of the staff and led to a table and asked if we wanted something to drink. We opted for coffee. The wait person gave us a menu before going to get our coffees. We were excited about the menu options and the prices. There was a great variety at a very reasonable cost. When they came back with our coffee, I ordered the Big Egg Breakfast, which was 3 eggs, I opted for sausage patties as did my wife, who ordered a stack of 4 buttermilk pancakes. We did not wait long at all and the food came out hot and well prepared. My wife raved about the pancakes and my meal was outstanding as well. Both of us really enjoyed our meal and the friendliness of the staff. We definitely will be back again soon! If you are in the area and are looking for a SOLID place to have a good meal at a reasonable price, I would recommend that you check out Bob Evans! You will not be disappointed!
Update: My wife and I went to the Bob Evans at 1050 El Jobean Rd, Port Charlotte, for Dinner tonight and we were very pleased. When we arrived we were seated and given menus and asked if we wanted any drinks. Our server, Julia, was friendly and attentive and allowed us time to make up our minds after she brought our drinks. I noticed that there were more people coming in, but the place was quiet and spacious. It was clean and bright and there were no smells to detract. The decor was obviously mid-America and with Bon Evans hailing from Ohio, it made the state proud. Our food arrived not long after we ordered and it was fantastic. I ordered the Cod with Coleslaw and Corn and my wife ordered the Chicken and biscuits. By the way, my wife LOVES the biscuits! Julia brought 2 complementary biscuits to both of us and they were indeed tasty. This was the first time we were there for dinner. The other 2 times we were there were for breakfast and lunch. All 3 times the food was consistently good and the service was excellent. One Note. Our server was Julia and when I went up to pay, I left a healthy tip and asked for a receipt. However, when I got the receipt home and looked at it, it said that our server was Paul. I am not sure if the tip was credited to the right server. I will ask the next time I I am there. It just placed a question mark on the evening. It does not detract from the food nor...
Read moreWe have been going to this restaurant for many years, not often lately due to the virus, but occasionally we would get take out from here. This last time, about a month ago, we just wanted to grab some dinner rolls to bring home to have with our pasta. We went up to the cashier and ordered a half dozen dinner rolls. As she went to get them out of the box a bus boy came with a hand full of dirty dishes and about two or three dinner rolls that he got off the table that he had just cleaned and he dumped them into the box that the cashier was getting our dinner rolls out of. We quickly canceled our order and told her that there is no way that they should be putting dinner rolls that were already on someone else's table back into the box for the next customer. Who knows what those rolls may have been through, they could have been dropped on the floor, tasted or just handled by everyone at the table. Especially in this day with the Covi-19 virus going around would anyone be that inconsiderate to put them back in the box, they belong in the garbage. We asked for a manager but one was not available. We called the next day and left a message but got no return call, we made three calls to Bob Evan's corporate and still not a single return call. I can only guess that this is such a common occurrence that they didn't think that it warranted them calling us back. We have lived here for just over twenty years and this just cost them a long time customer. I wonder how many dinner rolls that we have eaten in the past twenty years that were handled by other...
Read moreToday my son placed a curb side order online. We ordered curb side because he’s sick and wanted to avoid face to face or going in, so we didn’t get anyone else sick. We get a call on our way there informing us that because he ordered extra eggs, we need to pay an additional $4.57 because the online order system doesn’t know how to charge for that. We didn’t argue, just gave our card number and paid. The person that called (Katie) was pleasant about it, so no issues there. We arrive and park in the curbside, call the number to inform them that we were there for a curbside order. Katie answers and she remembers speaking with us about the eggs, tells us our order will be right out. 10-12 minutes later, no order. We see people coming and going, but nothing comes out for us. Finally, I go in to see what happened. I speak with a young lady (I believe her tag said Jennifer) and I explained that I ordered curbside and it never came out. She asked if we called and spoke with someone. I say yes, I spoke with Katie and I tell her the name the order was in. She points to a bag behind me on a wall shelf and says “Katie is the manager, it’s hard to believe she would have messed that up”. No apology for forgetting we were curbside or the fact that I had to come in. Just points at the wall and looks at me like I lied. That’s upsetting because I actually added a tip as a thank you for a curbside order and the least we could have gotten was an apology or “sorry we forgot about you”. At least the food was good...
