I pre-ordered my order on the phone and when I got there waited just a few moments for my pizza to be ready and the one thing I liked is that they didn't rush my food just cuz I was there they made sure it cooked and cooked properly.
Once again we got the grandma's pie because it's like almost addictive at this point The sauce is this like fresh crush ed tomato like it's supposed to be on a grandma's pie but with a little bit of kick to it You can taste the fresh EVO oh and a little bit of garlic on the crust just the right amount of cheese just the right amount of crisp oh God it's so good like honestly every one of my family loves this pizza and we are all originally from New York and this is the first pizza in Charlotte county that my dad is like actually 100% into everything else is always been like 90/80 or 0%.
And the best part is for $22 you're getting a 16x16-in pizza not some half pizza and not some overpriced pizza. The consistency was exactly the same as the last time to the t. There was no degradation in the quality there was no difference in the cook and there was no difference in the taste that seems to be the hardest thing to find around here..
Again I also got the garlic knots which are like the best price garlic knots in Charlotte county $5.99 for a 10 count of huge garlic knots. And what's nice about these is they have that perfect amount of garlic already on them and the perfect amount of butter / grease to them without the whole tray being filled with garlic oil not that I'm against that but these don't even need that cuz they're already done so well. They're also cooked perfectly where they have that nice amount of crispiness and softness to them and doughness.
This place honestly brings me back to New York It brings me back to where a standards were held when the pizza was cooked where the crust is made to perfection without being rushed and the pizza looks like a work of arts while also tasting like it.
While I was waiting for my food out in the car cuz my son went into get it I believe it was the owner or one of the main cooks or somebody came out to talk to me and say that he appreciated all the reviews that we have done in our group any appreciates the help.. he said they're having a problem getting their sign back up so just understand that the sign is still not on the building yet.
this is the second time meeting a staff member the first time was would seem to be a waitress who was very friendly and helpful when she rang me up and took my order again the same thing when I got my word taken they were very friendly and nice and this gentleman that came up to see me I think his name was Joe I'm not sure I'm really bad with names he was also extremely nice and friendly and really appreciates our communities business.
Sorry again for such a long review everyone but you know that I like making sure that it's not just here's the food it was good there's a lot more to it when it's something special when it's something that brings back that childhood memories or those flavors of home. I know a lot of people here think that when we say New York pizza we're trying to say that your pizza down here isn't good it's not that it's that a lot of these places are trying market as or say they are New York pizza or New Jersey pizza or up north pizza since pretty much that's where it originates from and this place does exactly that But with upholding to the quality and the taste And even the pricing.
We were also so hungry that we took a slice before taking a picture lol..
Also let me make it clear if you go here get the grandma's pie you will not be let down. It's a little spicy but not a lot I don't need spicy stuff and it was really...
Read moreAfter the dining in experience we had here about a week ago, we will never order from this place or come back to this place. When we walked in, there were like 5 tables with people, but most of them already had food. Waitress took our order (we ordered baked clams for appetizer, and for a main course I ordered greek salad with grilled chicken and my boyfriend ordered chicken marsala). Then we waited for like 10-15 minutes for our drinks. Finally she brought iced tea for me and water for my boyfriend. He told her that he ordered coke not water. She responded that she knew that he ordered coke, but brought water for some reason. Well it happens, not a big deal. Five minutes later she brought coke for him. All in all we waited for our appetizer for about 50 minutes. By that time there was only one other table dining in, and they already got they food even they arrived after us. After 50-minute wait we got the clams. Then in another 10 minutes we got garlic bread, even I ask the waitress to bring it with the main course. We were really hungry, so at that point, we did not really care, so we said nothing. By the way, this was the worst garlic bread I have ever tried. There was so much garlic on it, that I had a bad garlic breath the whole day next day, I only ate one piece. About 15 minutes later I got my salad, which was so-so. The chicken was dry. My boyfriend was still waiting for his food. The owner stopped by, and asked how we were doing. My boyfriend said that I was eating, and he could only watch me eating, as his main course never arrived. At that point we were there for more than an hour waiting. He went to the kitchen to check, and came 5 minutes later to tell us that the kitchen never got the order for chicken marsala. He said that he would talk to the waitress, and asked if we wanted him to put in an order for chicken marsala or smth else now. We said that we waited enough, and all we wanted was check. It is necessary to admit, that neither him, nor the waitress ever apologized, or tried to make the situation any better. And the whole owner’s attitude was pretty much as if what happened was not a big deal. I used to be a waitress myself many years ago in New York, and I know that me or anyone working with me would go above and beyond to fix it. We are not cheap, and not looking for free stuff. My boyfriend did not eat anything the whole day. All we wanted was to have a nice meal, so we decided to support a new place in town. I guess this place is good to visit if you are not hungry. I understand that mistakes can happen in this business, but it is really about having the right attitude . And in this place nobody had the right attitude that night, as if nobody cared. We have no reason to come back or support this business. We get treated better...
Read moreWe got there around 7 PM, and the place was practically empty—just one table seated and a few sad slices of what looked like grandma pizza sitting out in the display case. Not exactly the vibe you’d expect for a pizza joint at dinnertime
As a native Long Islander, I was thrilled to see “The Hoboken” hot sandwich (Hero) on Little Guys Pizza & Subs’ website—mainly because it featured broccoli rabe, something you rarely find in Florida. I called ahead and asked to sub grilled chicken for sausage. We drove a good distance to celebrate my birthday with what I thought would be a nostalgic, comforting meal.
When I picked up the order and checked the bag (thankfully), there was no broccoli rabe at all just thick, rubbery grilled chicken on barely baked bread with cheese. When I brought it up, the woman at the front was rude and dismissive, saying, “We were away for two days; we haven’t updated the website.” Sorry, but that’s not my problem. The website should reflect what’s actually available.
To make matters worse, the sandwich had to be awkwardly salvaged with last-minute substitutions. The garlic knots were forgotten until I asked, and when we finally tried them, they had zero flavor aside from that overly pungent jarred garlic taste. The hot wings were mediocre at best maybe a 5/10.
And the pizza? Both the plain cheese and pepperoni pies were a major disappointment. The crust was like cardboard, the sauce had a tiny bit of zest, but overall it was flat and flavorless. No one from Long Island, Jersey, Chicago, or Connecticut would touch this pizza. It doesn’t even come close to East Coast standards.
The energy inside was just… miserable. Everyone looked like they didn’t want to be there, and honestly, the food reflected that. If I hadn’t checked the bag, I’d have driven all the way home with the wrong meal and no heads-up.
The bottom line: the website is not a representation of what’s actually available, the food was forgettable, and the vibe was unwelcoming. I’d be genuinely surprised if they stay open much longer.
Thanks for the free bag of Lays chips packed inside with the...
