Used to be our favorite pizza place. Would have rated it a 5. Always touted their pizza too. Unfortunately over time, not only have their prices have gone up, but the quality and the quantity has gone down.
You can definitely tell that the ingredients have changed. And I can guarantee it's not for better ingredients. Sometimes when we used to call, there would be no delivery. So we have definitely cut back on ordering from them as they fall prey to the same tactics many food establishments fall into; trying to squeeze every dollar while simultaneously raising the prices and cutting back on the quantity, and quality.
The pizza used to be like true New York Pizza where it had so much cheese that the reddish looking grease would accumulate on top of the cheese. Now it has such little cheese that you get spots where there isn't any cheese on it and the bread bubbles up.
Tonight we got a non-sliced pie with barely any pepperoni and bread bubbles and spots from lack of cheese. They literally forgot to slice it. The pepperonis have gotten smaller and few and far between. I don't mind paying a little more. And I tip well too. But I do mind getting less toppings on a more expensive pizza. I was going to call to speak to the manager before writing this review, but I don't want to be that guy because it's not going to make a difference anyway. It's been going on for a while already, and will continue, until people just start ordering somewhere else and they have to close their doors, or they make even more drastic cuts while continuing to...
Read moreYou know the rules, one large plain one large pepperoni and a chicken parm. The Parm decides if I'll sit down at your place again. The pizza is very good. Worth the calories and the dollars. I'm a fan of brick ovens so it's a big deal to admit I've enjoyed these guys' air baked pie consistently enough to leave a favorable review for the pizza. I like my chicken Parm breaded and fried though so I won't mention here what happened to those poor chicken chests. Another good thing about an air deck is that the pizza is going to be clean. A lazy or inconsiderate maker can ruin a pie by not sweeping a brick oven enough and it's happened at good family restaurants I frequent. I appreciate the consistency of Bruno's pizza. They have it tuned perfectly. Lightly browned top, soft and chewy enough crust, seasoned just right. I've made and eaten thousands of pizzas and this one ranks. As a real one, I looked at screens and air decks like training wheels but this shop does it better than any of the corporate chains and is as good as any above-average yankee pizza shop these other mutants always seem to lament having abandoned. Definitely worth driving from as far away...
Read moreThe food was absolutely delicious! We placed an order online and paid on 1/18, the delivery person came to the door I added a tip....they charged the FULL AMOUNT plus tip to my card a second time. I called on 1/19, and the gentleman I spoke with was super nice, and said no problem....today 1/24 I see the 1st charge processing a 2nd time almost a week later...I call back the same person, super nice and he gave my info to the online ordering company. The gentleman from the online ordering company literally read off a script saying it was MY Bank's fault because my bank didn't remove the charge. Just got off the phone with Bank of America, and they confirmed no it is being processed a second time, they have no control over what someone else can or cannot charge and I have to file a claim to fight it....Over an hour worth of phone calls, chasing who's fault it is and why this happened ALL THIS FOR PIZZA AND WINGS....
