We will never come again. First time we visited was really great, second was superb, 3rd time was really… sad. While I wish it was a misunderstanding, it felt like a calculated business move he made to slight us tonight. Oh, if we had NEVER been to Charlie’s before, or perhaps had been to Charlie’s more, he would have recognized us or given an equal portion to our table. At first, I sympathized because I could tell it was a stressful Friday night. We had eaten here several times previously, we were shocked by the decreased portion size of our meal and that we received Fewer complementary dishes as the tables surrounding us. We have been here before enough to be aware of the different treatment we received. We are aware of how we were treated. Sure, it’s the Friday before NYE and it was busy, but honestly, if you are still holding on into 2023 with 5-8pm hours what do you expect. If you can’t provide for 8 tables, maybe only have 2? Sad to have had such an awesome experience previously and be completely disappointed now. We will never be back. Never received an...
Read moreAbsolutely incredible! I had the beef bowl - mild! Tender strips of beef mildly marinated tender and delicious over cabbage, clear noodles and perfect rice. Three sauces to choose. Mild - me. Medium - great but zi am a bit of a wimp for too much of it and ... spicier, which was like a fabulous remoulade but Korean - awesome flavor just too much kick for me. The folks next to me got a seafood vegetable cake that was the size of a 12 inch pizza but sort of a beautiful egg foo young presentation on a cast iron skillet pan sizzling and with a soy based dipping sauce. Sooooo getting that next time. The owner Charley was constantly circling checking with customers on how they liked their choices. The entire service staff was very kind and educational for a newbie like me. Calusa beer on tap. They have small built in grills on some tables so you can prepare your own if you'd like. Such a great place! Charley had a popular food truck and took it to the next level. Congratulations Charley, family and staff. This place...
Read moreI wanted to love this restaurant so much. Being Korean and reading best Korean BBQ outside Queens and many 5 star ratings i wat very hopeful.
I ordered duk boki which is spicy rice cakes. It tasted like diluted gochujang as the only flavor. And the cakes were undercooked and hard.
Bul go gi was tough and the meat was the way under subpar. I have never seen bul go gi where the meat did not curl after being cooked. You could literally see the meat flat as they were cut.
The seafood pancakes were the worst. Its also one of my favorite dishes, parts of it was undercooked, parts of it was charred and black. And I honestly didn't even try it as it smelled so bad in my car I had to pull over to throw it out.
One day I might give this restaurant another try, but dish after dish there was no saving grace. Even the ban chan the side dishes were way too stingy. Little 1 oz sauce togo...
