Very disappointed. The menu is laid out very confusing. This is the first restaurant the mofongo is not separated out. We expected to receive 4 plates of mofongo and ended up with 1. I ordered the shrimp mofongo and was asked if I wanted rice and beans which I was very confused about and asked if it came with rice and beans which she said yes. I said it was weird never been to a place that give sides with that. (Should have been an indication to repeat the order back to us). I also asked if the sauce for the shrimp was not cream which she said yes, cause I cannot eat cream. The rest of my group order another shrimp mofongo and a chicken, bacon cheese mofongo. We ended up with 2 orders of shrimp in a creme sauce, rice, beans and tostones. The other plate was fried chicken, cheese, bacon with rice and beans. The chicken on the menu did not indicate it was fried. If you look at the top of the menu it specifically says mashed fried plantains which is mofongo and we specifically asked where were the mofongo options because we saw it in the photos. One of the plates for the cream sauce situation she did ask to fix it however I am not big on sending food back it's uncomfortable for me and everyone else already had there food which we would have had to wait for a new plate to be made so I just asked for pernil something I knew would be a quick fix. Great service food came out fast we was the only one there but it was fast. I'm giving 2* because the food what I had it wasn't that great like everybody say. My wife order biftec encebollado and she have to return it cause it was to dry and taste funky like not fresh. Server took action fast I like that. Second plate was better but the way they cook it it's not what we use to know, they just do flatop grill so it's not that tender. I order surf and turf witch it suppose to be the "best plate" for $19.00 it's just 4 little shrimp 16/20 size and like 5 ounce skirt steak, mofongo was really good with the garlic sauce I love it, steak was super bland in flavor and the server ask me for temp I thought it was a thick cut but no. Alcapurrias 2 orders and it was 5$ not alot of meat. It was 5 of us I order 4 plates, 2 alcapurrias and Pina colada witch is from a machine really low quality bad after taste and I spend 100$. I'm a chef I understand the business and if you want to charge that much please bring the best quality you can, I'm here for help you take this like a positive feedback and fix it for those prices you should focus in better quality and also the environment should be decent clean, the bathroom got old oxide toilets and hand wash sinks I took pictures but I don't wanna show it. I went out to eat with my daughter and my newest grandson and I told him well you picked a place where you want to go so she picked this one I've never been here before it's a Latin food restaurant which it's beginning were in food truck. Everything was great the food was very good the way I liked it. the service was good also they took good care of us. So I would really recommend this place so that's what my channel here n put a like. See you guys in our next adventure.
