Wow what a hidden jewel! Based on reviews gave it a try and we are hooked. We strive to eat healthy, quality food while out traveling for disaster recovery which lasts at times for months. Hard to find especially in a typically tourist driven area, and after a disaster. Such is the case now after Michael. Small but worth waiting for a seat. Sure it can be loud but it’s positive noise with laughter and music in the background. Happy talk among the staff. We had the house made hummus which was truly house made- didn’t have the factory creaminess but instead presented with texture- like it’s supposed to have. The burger was patted out in front of us and you can tell it’s not low grade high fat beef. Portions are perfect and prices are on the spot. Service was the best we have encountered in our 2 months on the panhandle. Staff is attentive , honest and provide good pours. Kitchen is in your face so you see the cooks changing gloves between handlings- omg I haven’t seen that in many moons- wonderful! Plus they carefully prep and maintain the food. No sitting a just made salad on a counter to wait- it sets being chilled. We travel a lot and 90% of the time end up immediately in a bathroom after eating due to either poor cooking practices or unclean kitchen. Happy to say that didn’t occur with Christos. We will always come back here. Owner is young but very professional and has the right stuff. Way to go Palmer!!!! Jessie is great we will come see her again before we are deployed elsewhere. You gotta try this joint. Don’t be deceived by...
Read moreMy wife and I are locals and live in very close proximity to this bar. We have been ordering takeout pretty regularly from Christo’s for about 4-5 months now. I enjoyed coming here as a regular patron until this evening (12/20). I called a to-go order in for pick up and was asked to provide a credit card number prior to arriving and receiving my food. I was driving at the time and frustrated that I needed to find my credit card to provide this info over the phone prior to receiving my order. I asked the manager (Jessica) that was taking my order if this was a new policy and she replied that it was customary to get the customer’s credit card info for several years. I have NEVER been asked for my card number prior to even arriving until this evening. She then proceeded to hang the phone up on me. The staff has always been pleasant and has greeted me on a first name basis for the several months that I have been coming here. I have never had any issues until this evening. When I arrived in person to pay for my food, I was blatantly and disrespectfully refused service by Jessica. There was no reason for this type of treatment towards a guest that they have served many times and know on a first name basis and has never had any issue in the past. It’s appalling and absolutely no way to treat a customer that spends their hard earned money supporting local 850 businesses. I am beyond disappointed and disgusted. I will not return. There are too many other dining and bar options in PCB to be tolerating that kind of utter...
Read moreThis was our first visit to Cristo's and we were pleased with both food and service. If you arrive during the typical dining hours, you'll probably be met with a wait, but at least you can track your wait time and place in line through their on-line, automated system. Our estimated wait time was 30 minutes, but we were seated within about 40 minutes. Service was prompt and our food was delivered quickly, even though the restaurant was packed. My wife chose the Cheese Quesadilla with Corn Salsa and a side of Mexican Street Corn. She said the quesadilla was good, but unfortunately, two of the four pieces had no corn salsa. Because of this, she rated it a 7 out of 10. She gave the street corn a solid 9. Instead of one of the seafood options, I elected to try the Reuben with fries and onion rings. I was slightly disappointed in the Reuben. The beef was very dry and a bit tough. I've had much better Reubens elsewhere so I gave it a rating of 7. The fries, onion rings and dipping sauce were excellent. They definitely deserve a 10. Also deserving a 10 was the service. Even though our server was darting back and forth throughout the restaurant, she always made sure we had everything we needed. Christo's is high on my recommendation list and definitely somewhere we'd return. However, next time I'm going to try one of the...
