Chubby'z 2 Grill & Tavern — Restaurant in Florida

Probably some of the worst service we’ve ever had, and we’re frequent customers and recommend you to any friends visiting. Ordered a soup and appetizer, which never arrived. Server, a gentleman from Maine, returned to take order, still no appetizers. Ordered scallops, server returned shortly after to inform us no scallops. So I asked for him to give us a few minutes so we could look at menu again. When he returned I ordered blackened fish with a side of coleslaw, still no appetizers. Approximately 10 minutes later a female came by and basically just dropped the plates on the table, not asking if we needed anything else, and walked away. To which we noticed we had no utensils to eat with. Waited for server to check on us so we could get utensils to eat, he did a disappearing act for 10 minutes and we then noticed him cleaning tables, never checking on us. When we finally got his attention he came over and we told him we never got utensils yes if we needed some. At that point we had been there over a half hour waiting for an appetizer that we never got and food sitting in front of us that we could not eat as we didn’t have utensils. Told him to take back the dinner as it sat there and was cold waiting for utensils and told him to cancel the appetizers that we never received. He seemed to blame kitchen for soup and appetizer not coming out and when I told him I didn’t want a cold dinner he mumbled “great now I have to eat that. There were five tables occupied, we made number six, so this certainly was not during a rush. The two waitresses both looked at us as we waited for service. After waiting for 15 minutes, one came over and apologized because they thought the other was going to take care of us. We don’t mind waiting when the place is hopping, but not after you make eye contact when both are one table away. Point of reference- proof of no service is evident when there are no menus, silverware, or drinks on the table. The wings were grossly overcooked as the skin had peeled back on itself, the meat was dry and crunchy. We ordered a pitcher of beer, but we were advised to buy bottles instead because they were having issues with their draft beer. Our waitress was kind enough to put the game we were interested in on one of the three tvs on the closest wall. Unfortunately, the picture was fuzzy and distorted. We always loved their food and service for years. At one time, had the BEST wings. We were regulars up to three months ago when we walked out after 20 minutes of sitting at a table without service. We were hoping that a second chance would have proven that everyone has an off-day. That does not seem to be the case. Today proved that quality food, service, and environment have gone by...

What a difference from one visit to the next. Usually good service and food but surely a difference in service and the servers. Usually have Merlena as server most of the times we have been in and ALWAYS had good service and food and drinks on point. Today, went in for what is usually the best Monday burger special going... after actually getting a Monday off and knowing that's where we were headed for lunch....sorry 😐 wasted my time today...Marie was our server...took food and drink order right away but when it came to checking on us and her service....what a let down. Took her awhile to come back to table as she was sitting at a table socializing while husband's "COLD" beer refill was sitting at bar...just as husband was about to do self service at the bar...here she came with his now somewhat cold beer...if you are a beer drinker you know...burgers were not up to their usual...food was barely warm by time it got to table along with cold greasy fries...I think she might have come back once after bringing food to check how everything was as she was dropping off the check which she stated she was in no hurry for... obviously since we had to flag her down to take it so we could leave...not a good lunch day at Chubby'z😒😕. Will make sure Merlena is waiting on...
