Subject: Concern Regarding Unprofessional Experience at Cracker Barrel
Dear Cracker Barrel Customer Service,
I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received during my recent visit to one of your restaurant locations ( April sets 2025 Lady lake. I have always appreciated the warm, welcoming atmosphere that Cracker Barrel is known for, which is why this experience was particularly unsettling.
While checking out on a busy Sunday, I approached a cashier to pay for my items. She appeared to be conducting inventory and was counting tote bags. I politely asked if she could assist me, and she responded, āGive me a few minutes,ā with a very standoffish and unfriendly demeanor. Without further acknowledgment, she turned back to continue counting.
Shortly after, the telephone rang, and she immediately answered it, assisting the callerādemonstrating she was capable of helping others while I remained waiting. Feeling uncomfortable and overlooked, I then asked a nearby manager for assistance. He was helpful and promptly called another cashier to help me.
What made the situation more disheartening was that the same cashier who initially dismissed me soon provided prompt and friendly service to another customer who was standing behind me. She greeted her warmly and assisted her without hesitation. Despite passing by me face-to-face afterward, she made no effort to acknowledge or apologize.
As a customer, I felt disrespected and dismissed, and I canāt help but feel that I may have been racially profiled based on her stark difference in attitude between serving me and the other customer. It was deeply upsetting, and I left the store feeling hurt and unwelcomeāsomething I have never experienced at Cracker Barrel before.
The individual in question is an older woman with a short hairstyle. I hope this information helps in identifying her for training or further discussion.
It is my hope that Cracker Barrel continues to uphold its values of hospitality and equal treatment for all guests. While I am hesitant to return, I wanted to share my experience so that others may not have to endure the same.
Thank you for taking the time to hear my concerns.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife and I had breakfast there a week ago. My wife ordered the eggs benedict, and was informed that they don't have poached eggs, which is weird as the receipe calls for them. My wife ordered over easy eggs instead, which was as close to poached eggs as she could get. The eggs were delivered over hard, and rather than having Hollandaise sauce on them, they had slabs of half-melted Colby cheese.
We pointed out the errors to our server, who was very nice and trying her best, but was woefully undertrained as she said she didn't know anything about how eggs are prepared other than scrambled eggs. She did go back to the kitchen and came back with over easy eggs, still with no Hollandaise sauce however.
My wife and I decided to cut our losses and just eat. I had the Momma's Pancake Breakfast...with blueberry pancakes, which now apparently cost an extra dollar and had to remind our server that I wanted some syrup with my pancakes. The hockey pucks that they label as sausages were barely edible, so I helped myself to some of my wife's hashbrown casserole and discovered a piece of plastic in it.
We called our server over and showed her the hashbrown/plastic casserole and she said she needed to get her manager. The manager came over and we showed her the piece of plastic and she said "huh, that shouldn't be in there." Well, thanks Captain Obvious. She informed us that the plastic was a part of the label off of whatever container the apparently pre-made casserole is delivered in, and she did the right thing by taking my wife's meal off of our bill. We did the right thing and tipped our server based upon the full price of the meals we ordered, even though she didn't do that great of a job, but again it was more of a lack of training than effort on her part.
All in all, a disappointment to say the least and it will be a long time before we go back...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe were in the restaurant on a Thursday night. We arrived around 6:45 and were seated by 7pm. We thought we were off to a good start. After being seated for 5 minutes as our drink order was being taken we mentioned how cold it was in the restaurant. The waiter told us he would try to get them to raise the air but did not think it would help because he had asked a few times before and nothing was done. We then ordered our meal. I thought the special would be a good choice. Wrong. I ordered turkey. The turkey was decent but it was covered in a very salty, slimy, cold gravy(?) that was mainly celery. I scraped it off and ate a piece of turkey. I then tried the sweet potato casserole which was obviously the last of the casserole as it looked as though it was scraped from the bottom of the casserole dish. It was cold, the potatoes were only partially cooked and inedible. I then tried my second side dish which were carrots. They too were cold and just boiled with nothing on them. I ate my two slices of turkey and left everything else in my dish. The waiter noticed and asked if everything was okay, he asked if I would like to speak to the manager, I declined. This was not my first disappointing meal and it was my fault for returning thinking this meal would be better. The biscuits were warm and good and the waiter was very nice and tried to make things better but it was all out his control. While paying the bill, the couple in front of us was complaining about the quality of their meal and how the food was cold. His wife also ate none of her meal. Perhaps if they raise the temperature the food might at least be warmer. The restaurant is...
