I recently visited Takis with the hope of enjoying some delicious Greek cuisine, but I didn’t get my wish. The Greek food was meh. The Greek salad I ordered was a letdown. It was made with iceberg lettuce, ham slices, one sliced tomato and shredded feta. It didn’t have cucumber, red onion, bell peppers or large feta pieces. Also, the hummus was just okay, with grocery store hummus actually tasting better. And to top it off, we were only given one pita for the hummus appetizer, and no vegetables were offered. The entrees didn't fare much better, as the chicken souvlaki was dry and lacking in flavor. The Greek potatoes were also disappointing, as they didn't have any lemon in them. To make matters worse, the wine glass served was tiny, almost like half a glass. Also, the service was slow. The food took a whopping 45 minutes to arrive at our table. We ordered 2 hummus and one arrived 15 minutes before the other. Food was slightly over-priced. Overall, I didn’t give it one star because the server was friendly and they do take reservations. However, the food and service left a lot to be desired. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Greek cuisine.

29 Feb 2020 First time visit, for Saturday nite dinner. The smell when you first walk in is enticing.... Garlic, meat, bread, maybe a hint of tomato sauce... Your mouth starts to water with each breath. Everyone seems happy and satisfied. The service is fast and friendly, the food is fresh and tasty. The variety is excellent, the menu has so many great Italian and Greek options. I tried some of my son's French fries... Wow, I was already stuffed from my chicken parm and spaghetti, but I overstuffed mysef with the extra fries he didn't want to eat. They are excellent! The gyro meat is tender and tasty. The only complaint if you can call it that is that the gyro platter didn't come with onions, nor enuff pita for the quantity of meat. Other than that, this may become a new favorite place! See the pics, and give me a thumbs up!

I have to edit my review: I purchased my usual Greek salad and was really disappointed. Altho the salad itself was fresh and presented nicely, they must have changed the dressing. What they gave me was terrible. Appeared to be made of red wine vinegar, oil, and powdered parmesan cheese. Was not good at all and ruined the salad for me 😢. I noticed a sign saying they're hiring, maybe they lost their usual person who makes it? But if they changed the recipe, I won't get it again. Hopefully, they go back to the other dressing. I go frequently to get their Greek salad, to go. It's the best around! I've been numerous times and have never tried anything else but one day I will have a sit down meal and try something else! The staff are always warm and welcoming and greet you with a smile even if only for a take out order!

Sorry have to give you guys a one star tonight. It must have been the waitresses first night which I can forgive that but when you bring out the french fries ahead of everything that’s supposed to go with a sandwich and then you forget altogether my salad which was my entrée. I had to flag down two waitresses to to bring me my salad, my son was thru eating and then five minutes or less later she brought the bill !? I ordered a dirty vodka martini straight up. they put in sweet vermouth it was so awful I couldn’t even drink it. so when I told her it wasn’t right instead of offering me something else she took it away but still charged me for it!? She said I could speak to the manager and I waited for five minutes or more but the manager never came out so evidently they don’t appreciate their customers concerns. They need a barkeep. I’ve been there hundreds of times, love to eat there but come on, customer service? Train your staff and don’t put your drink prices on the specials board if that’s not what you’re going to charge. If you’re gonna take my drink away from me then take it off of the bill or offer me something else. Other wise leave it I’ll hold my nose and drink it. You don’t put sweet vermouth in a dry vodka martini. They up charged me for two liquors. is vermouth even a liquor? A splash is all it takes. If you’re gonna charge me for it then at least put the right one in , dry not sweet. This could’ve been smoothed over if the manager would’ve just come out and had a chat with me. I had already paid the bill. My four friends land here for three months this week I won’t be bringing them there, or recommending Takis to anyone anymore. Too bad. Food was...

Amazing pizza - to bad a large is the size of a personal pizza - normally I eat 2 slices of a human size pizza and my hubby eats 3 or 4 - we take the rest of our large pizza home for lunch the next day, that normally cost 16-20 dollars - well hang on to your wallet- we paid 20 plus for a large pizza I swear that was the size of a personal pizza -Barbie size pizza that Barbie couldn’t share with Ken / I’m not a big eater normally two slices and I’m pushing myself to eat especially since we both ordered a Greek salad - I thought the server may have taken the order down wrong - I kept questioning it - I ate the crust - that’s how hungry I still was -yep too bad , this was our 3rd visit - we normally had the spaghetti or a pasta type meal - that was decent but not spectacular- my hubby and I left the restaurant and went straight to McDonald’s- I kid you not!!!- Waitress was very nice and friendly I give her 5 stars the 6 bites of pizza was very good so that’s why I gave it a 2star -but I mean we spend almost 40 dollars and I was so mad and hungry- but refused to eat McDonald’s but hubby went at it - ordering a Big Mac $8.00 value meal - after a 40 tab. I was told by management that they are a Greek restaurant and so they don’t specialize in pizza but why put on menu as a large - small I would say is true advertising- as I was leaving I had to laugh on the top of the restaurant it says Greek - Italian -not mostly Greek - well headed home now to have a peanut butter and jelly ! Unfortunately it was my 3rd...

I have be going to takis when it started out in leesburg and i was 8yrs.My aunt was a waiters there. The food was great .as teens it was the go to place for us teens as young adults my best friend and i would go in and they knew us so well they would have our order started and we always felt at home.when i would leave fl. I spoke about takis so much that family would visit just to try the place and love it. Now there two places the one here in a new place and now in the villages. Now no one knows me in either place or my best friend we have changed we are much older and well takis has changed from one to two places and i feel out of place.i am greek about quarter and i grow on greek food and my best friend is Italian and the place works for us. I am just disappointed in how some things have changed the bread the salad the greek lozona.the sauces in most of the dishes have changed as well. Small salads are now side salad and charges us for a small salad bread i have had is hard and i have my teeth still and now a lot of my family members do not.Heres to the takis we once knew and now gone, but a lady can dream.heart broken and longing for the old and excepting the new sorry i do not talk as if it is the only place in leesburg to eat . The villages i really try to stay out of.I am not a big fan.sorry.Now the memories i have are great and i share that with everyone i just do not tell...
