[ ] Dined here on the 22nd of March. As a 15 year resident we have dined here several times over the years with mixed experiences. We mainly don’t go often because it’s like eating in a sauna. The indoor dining room is an open space connected to the kitchen and it’s hot. In fact, if you need to use the bathroom, you literally walk through the kitchen. The dining area is ringed by discarded inoperable food display equipment. All considered, we came back because they usually have some decent features and their bread is really good. “Kim” seems to run everything, albeit not very well. Even though it was 68 degrees outside it was pushing 80 degrees inside, which seems to be the norm. Either they don’t have the ability to cool the dining area properly because of the layout, or they lack the desire to fund the energy costs to do so. Due to a family emergency our dining experience was cut short. We got our Tiramisu desert to go. We decided to enjoy it a couple hours later. Unfortunately, there was a large shard of jagged plastic embedded in the dessert. We tried to call the restaurant to let them know, in the likely event there was a contamination in the batch, but they didn’t answer their phone despite multiple attempts. We got a txt several hours later and spoke on the phone with “Kim”. “Kim” was essentially insinuating we were trying to get “free” items since we sent her a picture of the plastic shard and she couldn’t understand how it was so “clean” We explained we cleaned it off after I took it out of my mouth to show what it was and we didn’t want anything. We told her if she wanted she could give us a desert credit next time we visited. Our main concern was that no one else potentially ingest this and that they need to answer their phone during business hours. After admitting what we already knew, which was they don’t make their own deserts and have zero knowledge or control over the quality “Kim” became indignant and rude and further accusatory. For these reasons, we recommend dining elsewhere. In our opinion, there are plenty of other great restaurants in SRB. All have working air conditioning, as well as a more organized, secure, friendlier and competent staff, that offer a better...

Crust Artisan Bakery is hands-down our favorite restaurant in Destin. From the moment you walk in, you feel the warmth, hospitality, and passion that Kim (the owner) pours into everything she does. She is absolutely amazing—every single time!
The food is nothing short of spectacular. Every dish is crafted with care, bursting with authentic flavor and presented beautifully. From the appetizers to the mains to the desserts, we’ve never had a single bite that wasn’t incredible. The house-made pastas, fresh seafood, wood-fired specialties, and indulgent desserts are all unforgettable.
The atmosphere is lively yet welcoming, perfect for gathering with friends or enjoying an intimate evening. Our group always leaves full, happy, and already talking about what we’ll order the next time.
Kim and her team have created something truly special here. If you’re in Destin and don’t stop by Crust, you’re missing out on the best dining experience in town. Highly recommend—every...
Read moreIt’s been a while since I’ve enjoyed every single thing that was ordered at the table. And I love to eat. All types of foods.
We ordered crab salad arancini (risotto balls) manicotti veal chop over spinach
Nothing was overly greasy or heavy with cream like most Italian places. The pasta was definitely handmade… it was so thin and tender it was almost like a crepe. The lump crab was fresh and not fishy at all. The arancini, although fried, was very lightly fried. The veal. Very rare to have a chop at a restaurant. It was well seasoned and had a beautifully seared crust. The spinach, still crunchy, not soggy. And lastly, I’m not a huge fan of marinara sauce typically… but theirs was different. I would definitely eat here again.
The only one “knock” I’d say is that the food does take its time to come out. You order one course at a time. However, when things are made to order and taste this good, it’s worth the wait. Pretend you’re in Europe without a schedule and...
