My partner and I were looking for an incredible Cuban place that used to exist somewhere around here, but we couldnāt find it, so we stopped at dālite. We were hoping for a pastry and a coffee, but the place was kind of cluttered and fussy, making it difficult to even see what was on offer. No one was in the place and it seemed like no one had been in there for a while. When I asked for a cortado, the barista informed me that they didnāt have any milk products, because āthis is a healthy place.ā Ok. My partner and I, perhaps sensing that this would be an adversarial transaction, decided weād get something simple: two espressos. As we made our request and the barista turned to the espresso machine, we both let out a gasp; the espresso machine is one of those nespresso things that you put pods into. My partner is intimately familiar with this device because itās identical to the machine in the breakroom at the hospital where she works. Perhaps you too know this machine if youāve ever waited for your car to be serviced at the dealership. In these and other slightly upscale waiting rooms, the nespresso is, of course, free. At DāLite Bistro & Bakery, an establishment advertising gourmet coffee, two nespressos cost us $7.50. My partner said the the barista āthere must be some mistake- we just got these two espressos.ā No, there was no mistake- each espresso costs $3.25. Please. No. You may not charge that much for a pod nespresso. Never. As we drove away, my best guess was that DāLite is a vanity project, a tableau dreamed up by the smug barista, a trophy-spouse of some tycoon with money to burn who doesnāt mind her being occupied & out of the...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe service in this restaurant is horrible. the staff have been rude to me every time that iāve come. I ordered a matcha and it was horrible so i asked to switch it for something else (i had drank one sip) and the waitress said no. I have come in the past and asked for a green sauce and one time the waitress told me that they donāt have it anymore, my friend asked after and then she brought it out for her (she was too lazy to get it so made up that they didnāt make it anymore). One of the waitresses gave me honey one time that i asked, then i asked again another time and she said that its extra (it wasnāt extra last time i came she clearly just didnāt want to get me honey). My friend also asked for avocado from the same waitress and she said that there wasnāt any, we asked another waitress and she immediately brought it out. She dosent even bother to check for what we ask for and makes up excuses because she dosent want to give us anything. Very rude and not welcoming, wouldnāt...
