My partner and I were looking for an incredible Cuban place that used to exist somewhere around here, but we couldn’t find it, so we stopped at d’lite. We were hoping for a pastry and a coffee, but the place was kind of cluttered and fussy, making it difficult to even see what was on offer. No one was in the place and it seemed like no one had been in there for a while. When I asked for a cortado, the barista informed me that they didn’t have any milk products, because “this is a healthy place.” Ok. My partner and I, perhaps sensing that this would be an adversarial transaction, decided we’d get something simple: two espressos. As we made our request and the barista turned to the espresso machine, we both let out a gasp; the espresso machine is one of those nespresso things that you put pods into. My partner is intimately familiar with this device because it’s identical to the machine in the breakroom at the hospital where she works. Perhaps you too know this machine if you’ve ever waited for your car to be serviced at the dealership. In these and other slightly upscale waiting rooms, the nespresso is, of course, free. At D’Lite Bistro & Bakery, an establishment advertising gourmet coffee, two nespressos cost us $7.50. My partner said the the barista “there must be some mistake- we just got these two espressos.” No, there was no mistake- each espresso costs $3.25. Please. No. You may not charge that much for a pod nespresso. Never. As we drove away, my best guess was that D’Lite is a vanity project, a tableau dreamed up by the smug barista, a trophy-spouse of some tycoon with money to burn who doesn’t mind her being occupied & out of the...
Read moreI stumbled upon this hidden gem tucked away in Key Biscayne, and it's nothing short of a delightful surprise! The journey is a bit off the beaten path, but trust me, it's worth it! The ambiance is charming, creating a cozy and intimate atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. The undervalued nature of this place only adds to its allure - it's like discovering a well-kept secret. Now, let's talk about the food. Absolutely phenomenal! The menu offers a diverse range of delectable options, and each dish is a testament to the chef's skill and passion. I really enjoyed the Keto Bowl - yum!
What truly sets this place apart, though, is the genuine warmth of the staff. Attentive, friendly, and passionate about their craft, they elevate the dining experience to a whole new level. Miami is overcrowded with plenty of spots - this hidden gem stands out as a breath of fresh air. If you're looking for a place that's both off the radar and unforgettable, do yourself a favor and make the journey to D'Lite. You won't be...
Read moreThe service in this restaurant is horrible. the staff have been rude to me every time that i’ve come. I ordered a matcha and it was horrible so i asked to switch it for something else (i had drank one sip) and the waitress said no. I have come in the past and asked for a green sauce and one time the waitress told me that they don’t have it anymore, my friend asked after and then she brought it out for her (she was too lazy to get it so made up that they didn’t make it anymore). One of the waitresses gave me honey one time that i asked, then i asked again another time and she said that its extra (it wasn’t extra last time i came she clearly just didn’t want to get me honey). My friend also asked for avocado from the same waitress and she said that there wasn’t any, we asked another waitress and she immediately brought it out. She dosent even bother to check for what we ask for and makes up excuses because she dosent want to give us anything. Very rude and not welcoming, wouldn’t...
