Everything about this experience was horrible. From the minute we got in there until the minute we left. First off, the hostess greeting us (bleach blonde wearing pink) was super unenthusiastic and cold, made us seem like we were a burden for making her seat us. Our waitress, although friendly and nice, was super inexperienced and left us hanging for 10 plus minutes numerous times throughout the night, despite the restaurant being at less than 50 percent capacity..

Most importantly the food for the 7 of us was mediocre for some at best, and absolutely inedible for others. The apps were edible but certainly not worth the price. We got the mixed charcuterie board and it was like a hodge podge of random meats, cheeses and fruits that had no cohesion and didn’t work together. The seasoned bread was the only app that was actually decent, but not sure they even make it in house.

The main courses were completely underwhelming. My mom had the ravioli which she said was ok. My dad had the poke bowl which he said was edible but very bland and slightly fishy. My brother and I had the gnocchi, which was ok, but the Gorgonzola cheese sauce just doesn’t work that well with gnocchi and it was way too much sauce. I actually wanted to switch my sauce to a red sauce but my waitress convinced me otherwise. My nephew who is ten had a pizza and he said it was fine. And my sister in law had some sort of fish with steamed vegetables and she said it was ok.

All that said, my biggest issue was my girlfriend’s dish! She ordered the special which the waitress stood by. It was a Tagliolini pasta with clams, I forget the exact name. But it was absolutely horrendous. The whole dish was super bland, the noodles were super rubbery, the clams were way over cooked, there were raw uncooked tomatoes strewn about the pasta, and all of this inedible nonsense sat in a two inch pool of bland unsalted clam water. No respectable chef with any ounce of care or credibility would ever serve something so disgusting. This was easily one of the worst “fine” dining experiences of my life. I would’ve much rather eaten McDonalds or Burger King. What a waste of...

Overall an ok experience but wouldn’t return. Food was decent: the highlights were the ham and cheese empanadas and the Catalina pizza. The atmosphere was cute especially the outdoor area. The biggest opportunity they have in this place is the service. People were very kind but there were many service delays. We ordered a bottle of wine and appetizers. After finishing our appetizers, still no wine on the table. We ordered a pizza , after finishing the pizza still no bottle on the table. I had to get up twice to request service. Finally we ordered our mains and received the bottle. There were 4 of us on the table and only 3 of us received our food. We waited to eat so we can all eat together but no explanations were given to us. Upon inquiring about the food missing for the 3rd time, they tell us the kitchen made a mistake. The 4th person received their meal after we were about done eating and they had ordered a rare fillet mignon which came ice cold in the middle but which they still ate after such long wait. Additionally, I had mentioned on the reservation that we were celebrating my moms birthday which was never acknowledge nor did we get any candle or anything when ordering desserts. At the end after appetizers, mains, desserts and 2 bottles of wine, we ordered coffees which came out cold. There was a lady in a green blouse that checked in on us and we mentioned only the meat situation to which she apologized but that was it. She seemed very nice but there was nothing done to fix our bad experience. We still tipped 25% regardless of the bad service but figured I would share our experience here for anyone looking to visit. As a Uruguayan and first time coming here I would say go to check it out if you miss home and you want to eat something familiar but don’t have high...

A Taste of Uruguay in Key Biscayne - A Hidden Gem!

I recently discovered a culinary treasure, Marbona, an Uruguayan gem in Ley Biscayne, serving authentic, mouth-watering dishes in a cozy atmosphere. This charming eatery exceeded my expectations, offering an unforgettable dining experience.

Highlights:

Exceptional Meat Plates: Tender, juicy, and expertly prepared, showcasing Uruguay's renowned beef.

Delicious Pasta: Hearty, flavorful, and generously portioned.

Show-Stopping Rogel: A traditional Uruguayan dessert, perfectly executed, with a flaky crust and sweet, caramelized filling.

Traditional South American Desserts: Alfajores, Tortas, and more, all scrumptious and authentic.

Pizza and Empanadas: Surprisingly delicious, offering a nice contrast to traditional Uruguayan fare.

Friendly Service: Warm, attentive, and knowledgeable staff, making you feel at home.

Ambiance:

Cozy, inviting atmosphere, perfect for intimate gatherings or casual meals.

Value:

Reasonable prices, considering the generous portions and high-quality ingredients.

In summary, Narbona is a must-visit for:

Meat lovers Pasta enthusiasts Dessert aficionados Those seeking authentic Uruguayan cuisine Cozy atmosphere seekers

Will I return? Absolutely, and...

Two Locations, Two Very Different Experiences This morning, we visited Narbona in Coconut Grove and had a wonderful start to our day. We ordered two lattes and a cake to pick up later this week. The service was excellent—friendly and attentive. A lovely staff member took the time to walk us through their dessert selection, which made us excited to come back and try more. Feeling inspired, we decided to drive over to Narbona in Key Biscayne for lunch. Unfortunately, it was a completely different experience. Upon walking in, the space echoed with noise, and a loud table of guests made it hard to settle in. We moved to the back room for some quiet and hoped for better. While the food was good, the service was disappointing. We waited a long time for someone to check in so we could order dessert—we were especially looking forward to the pistachio cheesecake and an espresso after loving our lattes earlier. But no one ever returned to our table. In the end, we had to seek someone out just to pay, and we left feeling frustrated and unseen. Coconut Grove Narbona — absolutely coming back! Key Biscayne Narbona — unfortunately, not again

We have been several times before to Narbona Key Biscayne and Coconut Grove. We were very satisfied, but this time the quality of food and service were rather poor. The AC was not working, so it was very warm inside. The food was flavorless. We were a group of 8 people and no one liked their dishes. We tried the provoletta (good) and Fried calamari (tasteless) as starters. Then we had the Chivito Uruguayo (nothing to do with what we had had in previous occasions), Spinach and Riccota Raviolis ( absolutely tasteless and too buttery), Pizza Key Biscayne and Pizza Catalina (regular). The service was not good. There seems to be a crisis of service in the Miami area. Owners do no pay attention to training personnel. It’s not very difficult.

If I could I would give them 10 stars! What a fantastic place in Key Biscayne. We order the chivito and the provoleta as a starter. So far the best chivito I have ever tried, and we went a couple of times to Uruguai! The provoleta was also divine, highly recommend it. For desert we ordered the Roher tart, which is a must! The atmosphere is nice, extremely well decorated and well chosen ambient music. Our waitress was an Argentine lady extremely friendly. If I have to mention something I would say that the AC must be improved…I know that having an open kitchen complicates it, but with these temperatures here we need some refresh so we can enjoy even better the food. We’ll definitely come back…maybe tomorrow ! :)
