I ordered some empanadas and a chorizo sandwich from here and the empanadas were pretty darn good, but the same cannot be said for the chorizo sandwich. It gave me one of the worst food poisoning I have ever experienced. I had chills, fever, and painful headaches for days after consuming the sandwich. Being bedridden was not great and I had to miss several of my classes because the chorizo was probably undercooked. I don't think everyone will experience the same thing but this left a sour taste in my mouth regarding the quality of the food of Nahuen. Never again will I order any kind of sandwich in fear of me contracting another kind of disease from the place. Also, the chorizo was basically tasteless and had no flavor, despite being a chorizo. I highly advise not ordering a chorizo sandwich from here if you have not had one before.
Which is a shame because I liked the aesthetics and atmosphere of the place. Unfortunately, my experience was so awful that I'm hesitant on whether I would ever want to go here again. One other thing, I would really like it if their menu had any bit of English in it but it makes sense it's only in Spanish because most of the residents of Key Biscayne are...
Read moreStay away! Hair in empanadas, moldy bread! Unacceptable manager behavior.
This place has been around for some time now and I think they had a great opportunity with what they offer: simple foods for a quick bite in the Key, however they are strongly lacking a sense of cleanliness and proper restaurant management, eventually someone will get sick!
First instance: we ordered a case of empanadas and found one had a bundle of hair inside. Yes, it was quite disgusting but we honestly thought it was simply someone from the inside clearly mad at the owners. This is why we decided to give them another shot (yes, very wrong decision indeed).
Now we just went to get a sandwich and find out the bread was moldy! On top of that upon complaining to the manager his attitude was defiant, as if there was a way to justify this madness!!!
This is more than just talking about a mediocre place to eat: this is to warn you that you should be careful as you might get sick!!! I have filed a complaint with the...
Read moreThere are a lot of Argentinians on Key Biscayne so there are a number of Argentinian restaurants. This is probably the most casual of those restaurants, but I actually think the food here is better than at some of the other, pricier locations on the island. My favorite is to get the assortment of meats for twenty bucks. They call it parillada. (Gringos, it is pronounced par-ee-yada.) It is enough food for two normally hungry adults, but my wife and I can usually put away 90% of a full order by ourselves. We always trade out with each other because I'm not a big fan of blood sausage (morcia) or grilled chicken breast. She loves both. The parillada comes with a bowl of french fries and a salad. You will not likely find ketchup at this restaurant, but the fries are mostly crispy so they are delicious with salt. I also think this restaurant has the best empanadas on the island. if you happen to be out on Key Biscayne and you want to try some Argentinian food, this is the...
