D. Americo's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Florida

Came Highly recommended from my Neighbor. We tried it the first time it was good, second time not bad. Wanted my Husband to try it and figured we would order again. We had a Fairly Large order and moderately expensive which was not the issue. I know feeding a Family of 6 is not cheap. I placed my order for pick up Monday night during the torrential downpour.we ordered a XL Pepperoni pizza with Onions on Half (Because my Son who has Special Needs will ONLY eat Pepperoni) cut in squares, a Large Cheese Pizza, a Penne with Garlic and Oil dinner with a Salad and Garlic cheese bread. My Husband and I drove to pick it up. He ran in and came out with the food I checked if everything was there, because the order looked small. Well it was missing two of the things I ordered for myself. My Husband was soaked to the bone, so I ran back in. I said I'm missing two things I ordered one is a salad and the young girl working just looked at me blankly for a moment. Then said oh yeah and went and got it. Then I said the other was garlic cheese bread. She said when you placed your order I said it included bread and you said ok. I said no I said I wanted to substitute it for the cheese garlic bread Multiple times. She said I could put it in now I said no thanks I don't have time it was the point. So we left. Well we got home and it Got Way Worse. The XL Pizza was covered in Onion not on half like it was ordered, soaked in grease. The Cheese pizza was more like extra cheese it was so very thick it was tough. It was also soaked in Grease! Both pizzas were Not cut completely, so when you tried to pull a piece out, the toppings all dripped off. My Dinner had little to no oil in the oil and garlic penne even in the bottom of the tin. And lots of burned garlic (burned garlic is Horrid tasting for those who are unaware) was covering ever single piece of penne. My Kids who normally eat 3-5 pieces on Pizza night only ate one piece each and my Son with special needs refused to eat anything. I still have my entire meal in the refrigerator because I wouldn't eat it either. I do Not know what Happened that night, but to waste the amount of money we did and not end up eating the food is Insane!! And the demeanor of the young girl was appalling to tell a customer they were wrong when she misheard me is Not right especially when I repeated myself multiple times!!! Very...

We have been ordering takeout from D. Americo’s Pizzeria on State Road 64 in Bradenton for years, off and on. Unfortunately, our recent experience on May 21, 2025, was very disappointing. We ordered 24 chicken wings for just over $31. When placing the order by phone, the woman asked if I wanted the wings cooked hard. I clearly told her no, that I wanted them cooked fresh and not overdone.

When we got home and tried the wings, they tasted old and had a tough, rubbery texture. I called the restaurant to explain, and the woman who answered apologized and offered to replace them with a fresh order. Then a man got on the phone and said they bake the wings in the morning and fry them per order throughout the day. He insisted that was their process and refused to replace them, even though my order was placed around 5:00 p.m. and the wings clearly tasted stale.

Paying over $30 for wings that were hard to chew and tasted like they had been sitting for hours is unacceptable. The inconsistency in customer service was frustrating. While the first woman tried to make things right, the man dismissed my concerns. This experience left us very disappointed, and we are seriously considering whether we will continue ordering from this restaurant...

After reading some reviews on local pizza establishments we chose to try D. America Pizzeria. As we walked in we talked with a some people going in and they said it was the best in town. You order at the counter and they bring the food out. Eli was a real gem working there. He's been there since he was 14 now 19. This is a family business. He's a great young person and was very knowledgeable about the business. My wife ordered the Italian Flag and she was very pleased. It's a riccota based pie with spinach and tomatoes. It was very favorable. I got the Hot Combo and I switched the ham for sausage. My pie was very good. It was hot and had lots of flavor . I love that the pizza crust is thin and the bake on it was great. With the meats and cheese the crust in the middle was a little greasy but that just gave it flavor. The toppings were generous on the pie. We didn't get anything but the small pies, no apps or salads. We will the next time because the ones we saw looked great.
