Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Florida

I usually do not leave reviews, like ever. But I was really not having the best day, just came off a grueling 5 hour, no break shift at Publix. And of course, there’s no DQ grill n chill near FGCU, Estero area. So, I leave my Publix over near FSW and I go to get me some DQ (I’m from East Coast of Florida near Ft. Lauderdale, we have a crap ton over there.) I come to the drive thru window, place my order. And this guy was really nice, like when I tell you that, I mean it. He was very receptive with my order and understood it clearly (he even up-charged me on the sundae to the blizzard) (I was gonna get it anyway, hah, but he did say what blizzard size before I even got to it.) And when I came to the window, I was like, wow, this is a college age looking kid, like me, and I was impressed by how well he does his job. He was very clear that I had to wait for the food but did it in a very understanding way and told me that I’d have to wait a few minutes. Then he brings out the food, and he catches himself, and says, didn’t you order a blizzard too? And I was thinking to myself, wow, at 11pm at night & he’s able to catch that. I’d be so drained that I’d forget to even give the person their food (that’s why I’m working a grocery store, not a drive thru, hah.) So, I’m driving back to FGCU on 75, windows down, like I always do. I look over to the right to see my food, and I see that there was some napkins stuffed in there nicely, thought, hm! That’s a cool way of doing that instead of just tossing it with my food, making it yucky. Then I see with the napkins, a couple coupons! I was like, oh my goodness! That’s the most awesome way of like, showing someone that they’re looking out for them. If I had a bad experience there and got given coupons, I woulda been like, HECK no, they’re trying to force me back here. But that wasn’t the case here. At all. Great encounter, great customer service, and great looking out for a customer. AND HIS NAME WASSSS, E.J.!!!!!! Manager at 9011 Cody Lee Rd, you better keep that kid for a long time, and shoot him up the chain, because I know a lot of people who just sit around and do nothing, making the experience horrible for a Friday night at 11pm. My son wanted an ice cream cake for his birthday he turned #15 years old, I really didn't have time to go down to the store and order the cake do to my work hours so I call the store and I asked if I could order the cake over the phone and the lady told me yes ma'am let me just pass you to the lady that take care of the cakes as I begin to speak to Angela to order my son's cake I got a little overwhelmed because I was not in person so I didn't know how to explain what I really wanted on my cake Angela was very nice very polite she began going step by step with me telling me what ice cream flavor what colors, I didn't know what to put on top of the cake and she began asking me questions about what my son likes what my son favorite thing is and I told her he loves to play video games and for his birthday I had got him a new cell phone and headphones and I asked her is it possible you could draw something like that on top of the cake like a PlayStation remote and a phone and maybe some head phones,and she say no problem and let me just tell you she did an awesome job way more than I expected, Angela is a awesome ice cream cake decorator I extremely recommend her. Visited 4/4/2024 @ 9:30ish pm. The menu had an item I tried to order on display. I was then informed it is out of season... It's a digital display, not well managed place if they have an outdated digital menu.. Then I get my food, I ordered a Original Chicken Sandwich, BBQ Strip Basket, Original Chicken Strip Basket, and Small Chocolate Shake. . . The food was ALL cold, even though I got it handed to me from the widow. Fries stale/soggy at the same time which is a feat in itself. The milkshake mise well have been chocolate milk with how runny it was. The chicken sandwich was 2 chicken strips on a bun. -- The toast has changed from how I remember it being making it floppy and not toast at all. The quality of the food at location is VERY BAD, the quality as a whole if the shake, toast, and sandwich is the standard now has gone VERY FAR DOWN HILL... I might try again at a different location but never this one again.. DQ Grill & Chill Corporate really need to look into the quality standards at...
