Went here with my husband and 1 year old. We were greeted by an older gentleman who was not exactly a nice gentleman. I got the feeling that he was not fond of us bringing a baby. He tried to lead us through a maze of tables, chairs and people to a table smack dab in the middle of the restaurant. We couldn't make our way after him because of the baby and diaper bag. I pointed out a table a little easier to access and asked him if we can sit there instead. He looked annoyed and said "fine, do whatever you want." Okay then...well then he brought me a high chair and when I went to put my kid down I realized the chair was like a rocking chair. My kid sometimes whips back or forth and that could be dangerous for him to sit in. So I grab the chair and go to exchange it with another one from the front. The same older man looked at me and said "Once the baby is in it he'll be fine". I was taken aback but told him that I was not comfortable with my child sitting in a broken highchair. He looked annoyed and said, again, "Fine, do whatever you want." WHAT? So I grab a new high chair and we sit. Out waiter comes over and he is amazing! They were packed and the servers were stretched a bit thin it seemed but they we're hustling. Our waiter was so helpful! He went over the specials and answered any questions we had. Our food was okay. It was nothing spectacular but it wasn't bad. The plates and portions are huge which was cool but the food was nothing special. Honestly, our server was the one that made our visit enjoyable. The older gentleman had set our breakfast out to a bad start with his rude remarks but our server was the complete opposite and made it better! So all in all, there is a rude older gentleman, who I get the feeling is not fond of younger people or kids, okay food, BUT spectacular service. I don't see my family returning here because we didn't feel quite welcome when we arrived and the food was eh. But kudos to the waiters and waitresses because they were working their butts off...
Read moreMy husband and I went to Boynton Beach for a weekend, before we hit My husband and I visited Boynton Beach for a weekend, before hit the road back to Orlando, we wanted to have a big breakfast then we found good reviews of Dune Deck's Mimosa Cafe on Yelp.
Because our dog was with us, we took the outside seating. It's in a shopping area with plenty of parking. We were there around 10:30am on Monday, so no line to wait.
I checked the menu beforehand, so I kind like knew what I want, with today's special, the followings were what we got:
Avocado Toast, with fresh fruits at the side and 2 eggs of your choices. Everything was so fresh and Delicious! I always love avocado, there's more than enough on the toasts with right seasoning, just wish it can be double in size, a 2 full slices of bread. LOVE IT. Lobster bacon Omelette ( Today's Special ), with fresh veggies and fruits, a choice of bread and potato! Again everything was fresh. Lobster was fresh and juicy, bacon not too dry and omelette itself was huge. The sauce was light, difference but in good consistency. LOVE IT. Mediterranean Chilled Frappe, a speciality coffee, unbelievably smooth and with lovely touch of it, LOVE IT. Creme brûlée French Toast, get so much good reviews on it, even we were so full, I still ordered it to go and it didn't last too long, we finished it in the car. Because it decked up with few pieces of French toast before it baked, it actually tasted like bread pudding and looked like a cake. Very moist in the middle but crunchy at the top, I believe it's brown sugar. ( This's not in the menu, so you have to ask for that, it probably becomes their signature dish already ) MUST TRY.
We were so glad that we found this place before we drove home, sadly we cannot have it shortly, but will definitely go back when we visit...
Read moreMy husband and I went here for lunch . I ordered the turkey sandwich. When it came to me there was more turkey than I wanted so I went to remove some of it and the turkey was slimy. It is deli turkey and I was not taking a chance on eating spoiled turkey so I ordered something else and sent that order back. My husband was done with his lunch by the time my order came because the server did not come back to check on us for awhile. I waited for at least another 15 minutes before my new order came. I ate with my husband just watching me since he was done. It was really warm in the restaurant as well. We paid and when we were leaving there was a man sitting on a chair at the door. I asked if he was the manager and he said yes. When i told him that my turkey was slimy he said "I highly doubt it." I said that it in fact was slimy and that my order took way too long to come out after I sent the sandwich back and that I basically ate alone while my husband watched. He said" that's unfortunate". I said that was a terrible answer he he said "yes it is." What kind of answer is that? We did not ask for a discount or a free meal. I just wanted him to know so he could check the turkey and maybe an acknowledgement that it may have been bad. I cannot believe his response and that is why I am posting a review. It was very upsetting and totally unprofessional. I know how the food industry works as I was a store trainer for years at another restuarant. Always check the lunch meat before eating it! Would not...
