This establishment is a great place to go for a drink, eat & spend time with family & friends. I was here one evening with family for a bite to eat & listen to some music. I had a Cubano (A Cuban sandwich which is a variation of a ham and cheese sandwich that originated among the Cuban workers in the cigar factories in Key West, Florida as early as 1831. Later in 1886, Cuban exiles and expatriates brought it to Ybor City, Tampa. The sandwich was later popularized in Miami in the 1940s). The sandwich was very well made better than some other places that I have had before. The reason I only provided three stars is because the music & singing was way to loud for my taste. This place is very small in size, plenty of seating at the bar & in the restaurant but the music was to loud for the small space that the music was being played in. The individuals that were singing they seemed to be shouting while singing very hard to understand what they were trying to sing. It was great seeing practically every individual was being part of the singing with the singer. This place I've noticed had entire families with kids enjoying the atmosphere & dancing on the dance floor. Great place to go for a bite to eat, if you enjoy Latino music & Caribbean cuisine please go &...
Read moreAn absolute ClusterF@ck is the only way I can describe the experience. We had called ahead to give them a heads up that there would be 8 in our party. After 10 min of waiting around and watching the server playing with her phone behind the counter we asked if we could order our drinks and appetizers. We could tell that it was going to be a hassle so we decided to put in our main courses. Mind you, the menu is super limited so it should be that difficult to prepare. Additionally, most of us ordered the same thing, onion steak, red bean and white rice. It took 35min for even 2 plates to come out, not to mention the 3 appetizers where nowhere to be found. Another 15 min for the child plate of fries and nuggets to come out. After asking where my food was, she had not written it down so, no food for me. Spend over an hour and half and only 5 of our party had received their food. I just left and the rest of my party stayed. I guess they enjoy being tortured. Last thing to mention, they have music playing but it is absolutely too loud to dine comfortably in. I absolutely LOVE Salsa music but Damn! Being Kissimmee, there are way too many other places to get Puerto Rican Food to put up with that nonsense. Save your sanity and...
Read moreIf you’re looking for an island experience, this is The Spot! With domino tables greeting you before you walk in the restaurant to walking into salsa, merengue and even live karaoke/instrument playing! The atmosphere is truly an amazing experience and a joy to be around! Now, let’s talk about the star of the show, the food! Regrettably, I did not take a picture of the beautifully plated mofongo con chicharrón de pollo! So let me inform, it is my go to dish and I haven’t had it in a while but, tonight! Tonight, I realized why every time I crave, Mofongo con chicharrón de pollo, I think of El Nuevo Ponce! The chicken is so well seasoned and ever so juicy with a mojo giving a refreshing taste when you dip the crispy chicken to perfectly matching the mofongo! I even used the mojo to eat the salad that comes with the meal, and the cohesiveness of it all makes it an overall 10 out of 10! I really hope this review brings you to at least taste it the meal, or even enjoying a night out in your island or an island you’d like to visit soon! God bless...
