This is a little hole in the wall mexican restaurant, much like you might find in actual Mexico... unfortunately for them they are in the states where the standards for food and dining are a little higher and there is much more competition.
I got the chimichanga plate which came with 2 chimis - one chicken and one beef (ground). When I got it I found that they were about 5" each - small compared to chimis that I have gotten at other mexican restaurants. The green sauce was alright but the amount of cheese on it was miniscule. It also advertised in the menu that it came with a salad. I understand that most plates of this type will come with the garnish on the side, but I wouldn't call it a salad, and sour cream wouldn't be considered a dressing to it. I wasn't impressed with the meal - it seemed to be a little under average in my book.
The overall service was ok. Our waitress spoke very broken english and understood even less. On a couple of occasions she had to go get her manager to help explain things - he wasn't much better. I would have been ok with our experience if it was just that, but it continued... The manager was very cut and dried in his attitude. My sister-in-law had an issue with her meal, and the mgr was called over to speak with her. He was very unforgiving, unlike a manager should be in this situation, and was not very pleasant at all to deal with.
I think that they really need to reevaluate their position in their marketplace and make some adjustments to their restaurant accordingly. They really need to have something that the guest leaves raving about, rather than giving a review like this. I really should give them more like 2 stars instead of 4. I'm trying to give them the benifit of...
Read moreI recently visited El Rodeo Mexican Bar and Grill in Ruskin, Florida, and decided to try their steak tacos. Here's my review:
Taste and Quality: The steak tacos were exceptional. The steak was tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection with a smoky, savory flavor that was enhanced by the fresh cilantro and onions. The tortillas were soft and warm, providing a perfect base for the flavorful filling.
Portion Size: The portion size was generous, with each taco being well-stuffed with a good amount of steak. They provided a hearty meal that was both satisfying and filling.
Accompaniments: The tacos were served with a side of lime wedges, which added a refreshing citrusy touch, enhancing the overall flavor. They also came with a choice of salsa—both the red and green salsas were fresh and packed a punch, catering to different spice preferences.
Presentation: The tacos were presented beautifully, with vibrant colors from the fresh ingredients. The plate was visually appealing, making the meal even more enjoyable.
Ambiance: El Rodeo Mexican Bar and Grill has a lively, welcoming atmosphere with colorful decor that adds to the authentic Mexican dining experience. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.
Overall Experience: I highly recommend the steak tacos at El Rodeo Mexican Bar and Grill. They offer a delicious, authentic taste of Mexican cuisine in a vibrant setting, making it a great spot for a satisfying meal in...
Read moreThis building has housed many different restaurants and businesses through its many years of existence in Ruskin. Now there is a nice Mexican restaurant here. Someone gave us a gift certificate to here. So, we decided to use it this past weekend. We have noticed that the parking lot has had plenty of cars in it since this new restaurant has opened, which is usually a good sign. Tonight it was literally full. Fortunately there was one spot left available. (there is parking in the rear of the building) We went inside to see the place was full. There was one booth left. We were greeted and seated quickly. The owners did a really good job decorating the inside. Each table and booth is unique and definitely a work of art. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and quick. We had our drinks and chips and a delicious salsa in a reasonable amount of time. They have a good size menu of appetizers, entrées, platters, dinners and deserts. We ordered and while we waited for our meal we enjoyed the chips. Our food arrived hot and fresh. The portions were generous. The food was tasty. When we had eaten all we could, we had enough to take home for lunch the next day. Prices were very reasonable for a sit down Mexican Restaurant. We are glad our friends gave us the gift certificate to this nice new restaurant. We really like supporting local restaurants. We really enjoyed our first visit and look forward to...
