I’ve worked at this place since it opened, back and forth. I had to leave the first time because while working in the kitchen a hostile man tried to hit me with a frying pan and the owner does not care for her staff nor did she do anything about it so I quit, eventually moved on and tried to forgive owner. The only thing good about this restaurant is the staff working under the owner, like the servers and cooks. There are many past employees who still haven’t gotten their last check. In fact the old dishwasher Ace put in rat traps in and around the place but she fired him before he could get them out. So I’m not sure where this rat traps went. The place was almost shut down for rats, and most of that was negligence. I recently had an issue while working there, I came as a customer later on that night and had my regular tequila and sprite. During this I defended (what I thought was a friend) against someone who is currently running from the cops for shooting another man at another bar. I kept telling him to leave him alone and that it doesn’t matter we were all just trying to have a good time and I as I walk away to go get a bartender I get punched in the face. Bartenders come out and even the guy that I was sticking up for told both the bartenders that I did not hit or lay a hand on him. I went outside to charge my phone while they still served him drinks. He kept coming outside to harass me and at this point I’m over it, so I call the police. It’s the second time the police has been called in two weeks and the owner was upset at me for calling but does not care about her bartenders terrible reaction to everything. I am the only one who told Sonny (Donna) what happened and she assured me he would be barred, nope. They all had a meeting with everyone besides me. I walk outside for a quick brake while working and the same guy who hit me in the face in the past was standing right in front of me. Nobody told me, nobody offered me a meeting until I left 20 minutes before my shift ended because of the anger building up. Yes I was angry, what kind of people do that? 20 minutes before my shift ends. And I quit, I told Donna that I would not work there if she couldn’t have her workers back. I asked for the camera footage to show the police but in that spot there’s no cameras, none of them even work like that. And so recently I came in to pick up a friend, Krissy (who brings her children under the age of 18 in) and Tyler (who drinks on the Job and gets a little too aggressive) both just started yelling at me to leave and instead of talking or explain professionally, they screamed at me like I was one of their poor children. Hostile, condescending, rude, childish, and...
Read moreThis is a tough one for me to review. Have never been to this restaurant before and I’m on the fence if a second visit will happen. The food for the most part was pretty good. Every other part of the experience was not so good. We placed an order over the phone for 2 Key West Mahi sandwiches and 2 Bayou Bread pudding. Simple right? Ordered one sandwich grilled and one blackened and were told we could only have either grilled or blackened not both and that it only came with rice. Ok. Weird. And the order was repeated. Got to the store walked in and it took several minutes to find anyone. Granted it was a Monday night 45 minutes before the kitchen closed. After a bit of waiting the food was brought out and the check handed to me for 2 tacos and 2 bread puddings. (That explains the grilled or blackened question). Told the guy, who was the one who took the food order, we ordered Key West Mahi sandwiches. He was friendly and apologetic about it and said they had no tickets in the kitchen at that moment so it would be ready in 12 minutes. 20 minutes later he arrived with the food. I asked about the 12 minutes and he said they were training someone in the kitchen. I get it. Monday is a good day to train someone when it’s slower. But not on my time. Was offered a 10 % discount for the trouble. The check was rung up. No 10%. It was only 60 seconds since he told me about the discount and I had to remind him. On to the food. The grilled sandwich was great with the exception of the soggy bottom bun. You can’t just toast the bun, need to add a thin layer of mayo or your voodoo sauce to keep that from happening. The fries were very good also. Sandwich number 2 was supposed to be blackened. The choice on the menu is, grilled or blackened. This one was breaded and fried. However, also a good sandwich. The bread pudding for $8 was not bread pudding. It resembled bread pudding. It was way over baked and dark and crusty. Needed a knife to get through it because of the density and of course the burning. (First bite got a nut shell, but I can sort of forgive that. It happens. Unless you break a tooth.). Was also wondering where the bourbon cream sauce was. There was a negligible amount of some brown sauce at the bottom. All this for $66. And I’m sure he charged us for the Tacos which we didn’t order. Stupid me didn’t keep the receipt. Was too tired and hungry...
Read moreHad a terrible experience yesterday. We had been there before, and the food . The server we got was new, and I think we were probably his first customers, he took our orders and then came back and asked us the same question all over again. I asked for a side salad and ask for him to give it to me before the meal. I had to chase him down when he was talking to a bunch of people, and I asked him again to give me the salad to which he didn’t listen to any of my request about the salad. He got a few of the orders wrong. And I can understand that he was new, he never asked anybody if they wanted dessert he just brought our checks. He charged me for two salads, he charge my sister for a salad she never had or asked for. When she told them to deduct it from the check and they said they already rang it up that they would have to void it but meanwhile, they took it out of her bank account and told her it would be refunded. It was only voided in their restaurant, but it wasn’t voided with the bank. We were there for hours trying to straighten it out and they didn’t understand or wanted to understand what they had done wrong. When we asked for a supervisor, they said they don’t have one. The owner was on the phone with one of the waitresses , and she said that she would make it OK. She voided the wrong check and charged twice for wrong ticket. It’s clear they don’t know what they’re doing, there is no supervision, and the owner is nowhere to be found. Are used to like this place, but will never go back. The food is not that great that it warrants a return visit of...
