I'm real disappointed with my visit this evening. I just left there. There were three waitresses working. I found that out when we were about to leave. Only one acknowledged me even though I stood at the counter finding out whether we had to seat ourselves or wait to be seated. One of the reasons I stood at the counter is because there weren't many people in there and i'm almost positive that we would have never been acknowledged because I was standing there and wasn't even acknowledged right away. There was one lady that finally came to take my order. After that there was the bartender, who also happened to be our waitress as well. Here I am thinking that she was the only one there, since it was pretty slow. But that wasn't the truth. My husband had to get up to pay the bill since no one came back to the table for him to pay. He found out that there were two other waitresses on the other side of the establishment that should have been working. But they weren't. They weren't helping us like they should have been. The food portions were very small and without seasoning. No one ever came to check on us during our dining experience until we had finished our meal. Our table never got cleared off until the end, because I am assuming that this waitress that did finally wait on us, who was also the bartender, was just too busy working at the bar to come back. Someone did try to help us at the end but it was too little, too late. We still left a tip though. The macaroni and cheese had very little flavor and my husband's was cold. My mashed potatoes and gravy was also cold. They need to step their game up. I'm also disappointed in those small buffalo chicken egg rolls as well. They were extremely small for the price. I've had much larger egg rolls than that for the price that we paid. For almost ten dollars, they should have been much larger.
Reply to the so called owner.... What you just stated isn't true. And it's more of a reason why I will never come back! There's no reason for me to look for anything to complain about. Don't tell me that I give what I get. From the time I walked in, I stood there for a long time before anyone acknowledged me. As a business owner, you are supposed to make your clients happy. There's no reason for you to try to blame me for being unpleasant toward anyone. I'm the one paying my money to patronize your establishment. If everything was okay, then this would not have been a review that I would have left. You all need to get it together. I never had an attitude, but I was disappointed because I had to stand there and no one did acknowledge me. There was no reason for me to make this up or to lie. What's even worse is instead of you trying to apologize about what was done wrong. You instead threw the ball at me like I was the problem. You are absolutely despicable!!! The other thing you need to do is go get rid of those flies in there. It only takes a moment to get a fly strip. We should have taken our food to go. Then we wouldn't have had to deal with all the flies or the...
Read moreI saw how controversial the reviews are on google, noting that many of the negative reviews are strange and personal, and between that and a lot of the positive reviews amounting to "Was good." I really needed to see for myself. I'm a big foodie, so I fall in love with a place that's truly fantastic. So, I walked in, and immediately felt at ease because I find pub environments to be too loud and it usually gives me a headache, but this was really relaxed and the volume was well-balanced. I met with Nicolle and Muriel, they were very nice and noticeably opposite to the robotic copy-paste responses you always get at restaurants. It felt pretty personal and homey, so A+ on atmosphere. I ordered a rum n coke (the liquor selection there is excellent btw) and started with their garlic wings. I knew it was already going to be something above the norm when I noticed actual chopped garlic on the wings themselves. The flavor was great, and the wings were made perfectly. Crispy on the outside and very juicy and flavorful. You can tell when a place uses frozen PoS wings because they lose a lot of that "chicken" flavor, and that was not the case here. Next me and my friend split a mushroom swiss burger and their cheesesteak. Advance warning that their cheesesteak sub isn't authentic philly, but it was very good. Sauteed mushrooms onions and peppers under a blanket of provolone topped the beef. It was pretty damn good, but it held no candles to the burger. Nicely toasted bun, fresh toppings, just barely pink in the center, slight crisp on the top and bottom of the fresh-that-morning patty, what more can you want out of a burger? Everything was excellent from the bun to the blue cheese, A+ on the food. Only regret is that their french fries are not fresh-made in-house, but still definitely deserves the A+. Tried a sample of the sexy sauce, slightly spicy ranch with Parmesan. Mmmm. Bartender and owner were great, friendly welcoming attitude, and the owner even gave me two of their homemade pork rinds on the house when I mentioned I like pork rinds. A+ on the service. The prices are fairly resonable, especially considering the portions, so A+ on price as well. I see no reason not to give these guys 5/5, they made a return customer out of me. My days of Burger King when I need a quick bite in Lehigh are long gone, I'm getting EmJay's takeout from now on! Not like BK is cheaper anyway. You guys keep doing what you're doing, I love it when people are passionate about their food, and I can tell when a joint is a restaurant first and a business second....
Read moreJust moved here and we always try to stay local to help the economy in our neighborhood. With that being said we at shop at our local stores and eat at the local restaurants. We were very excited to visit Emjay's Tavern &Grill. The outside is very inviting although the parking is small no fault of the businesses that are there. When you walk in the bar is in the center and it is beautifully made of wood. The country style booths go around the room. Table and chairs are nicely separated. Our waitress was Rachel when we arrived there were very few customers. Rachel was smiling and very informative, took our drink order brought them to us with 15 minutes. Then we didn't see her for 35 minutes to take our dinner order. Its starting to get busy. Rachel doesn't come back for another 45 minutes with our meals. I ordered openface turkey ,it was cold. Chicken wings were ordered they were perfect. Buffalo Flatbread ok, pork chops outstanding. Rachel comes by we ask for dessert menu she says she'll be back and she disappeared into the abyss. Half hour I go looking for her to ask for the check now I get the cold shoulder and under her breath she says as she walks away have patience. I did notice two other woman in shorts by the kitchen door but they weren't helping Rachel with the table's. We don't blame the waitress for the extremely long wait nor do we blame the bartender for the awful drinks, its a tavern we should of ordered beer our mistake or the cook for the cold food. We put all the blame on the owner poor management. This tavern could be a gold mind with good management. The usual customers will always be there ,new customers can bring in new money bad reviews will eventually ruin your business. I guess it all depends on what you want for this beautiful establishment. After we left we read the reviews and its sad that you reply with sarcasm instead of correcting what is wrong. 3 đ for a beautiful...
