I rarely write reviews but I’m in shock over the experience I had tonight as a patron of 20+ years. The drive thru was down the street so I decided to go inside since it was relatively empty (clearly everyone else knows what I now know). I (for the third time out of hundreds of visits) walked inside and ordered a Strawberry Ice Cream Soda but the girl that went to make it didn’t actually know how. I watched her with my own eyes ask her coworkers for help 4-5 times in the process of making it. When she put ice cream in it, the only person there above the age of 17 told her that it had too much ice cream in it. He took it, poured some out, and immediately put it in front of me with its contents all over the lid and dripping down the side. I could not believe he thought it was acceptable to give that to a customer and I wonder what about me gave him the impression it was okay to provide me with subpar service. I would’ve moved on however I tasted it and there was no carbonation. I was trying to get another worker’s attention, but the man asked me if I needed something and I very politely asked him to remake it because it didn’t taste proper. He decided to argue that she only added extra ice cream to it (which would still mean it was made incorrectly). After I (again) asked him to just remake it, he grabbed the cup like it owed him money and threw a silent temper tantrum in remaking me one. I heard him ask the young girl about how she made it and she admitted to making it incorrectly but you think Benjamin Button ever thought it wise to apologize to me?? I laughed. I think this grown man has clearly spent too much time with his teenage coworkers because in typical petty-teen fashion, he gave it to me filled to the brim with no lid. I was very appalled at this behavior but laughed as someone who looked twice my age was acting half it. I won’t be patronizing for a while, but I hope when I do, I have a more positive experience and will update this review...
Read moreI’ve been coming here for years since I was young. I moved a few years ago so when I come back in town, I always make a trip here for my favorite ice cream. I ordered a Boston with cookie dough shake and chocolate sundae. We went through the drive thru and after driving a little bit and sipping the shake, I didn’t taste any cookie dough flavor at all, so I turned around to ask if I could have it remade because I didn’t see nor taste any cookie dough pieces and it didn’t taste like it usually does (this was also after she literally forgot my order and had to open the window and ask me to repeat it). The girl at the window proceeded to basically argue with me and say it’s because I had not finished the sundae on top and that’s why I couldn’t taste it, when I was literally sipping through the straw that should be pulling the shake flavor from the bottom. She then said “well I made it with the regular two scoops, if you want it remade, I’m gonna have to charge you” she literally took my Boston from me and looked through it and at that point why would I want that back. The cup was basically full still so I said well if you’re not going to remake it, I’d like a refund. She then immediately was ready to return my money. How does that make sense, so you’d rather lose a customer by giving a bad quality item, bad customer service and not fixing a clear error/mistake. As someone who works in the restaurant industry, that was very distasteful. I also asked for the manager or owner multiple times and she ignored me. Absolutely...
Read moreI wish i could give 10 stars!! What a great little shop. Ice cream is great, but the staff are amazing! I was visiting my father after my step mother had just passed away. My BFF and her 3 kids came with as well. My dad took us all out for ice cream, and my friend's 6 year old and 5 year old daughter noticed a toy on the floor by the counter. It was a leap pad dog toy, one that talks when you push certain buttons on its feet and ears, etc.. the girls wanted to keep it, but my friend told them they couldn't because it wasn't theirs, and if the kid that lost it came back for it they would be sad. She made a deal with them that she would call the shop back after 30 days and if it wasn't claimed, she would pay to have it shipped to her house. Kris gave her number to the store, fully expecting her girls to forget all about this toy, and not expecting any further communication.... the store sent her a picture of the toy asking if she missed it... then, here is where they went so far above and beyond any customer service i have ever seen... THEY SENT EACH OF HER GIRLS BRAND NEW TOYS EXACTLY LIKE THE ONE THEY FOUND IN THEIR STORE!!! how cool is that!! I will forever be a customer of theirs whenever I visit my dad. I can not recommend this place enough!!! Get AAAAALLLLL of your ice cream from country style ice cream shop!!! Thank you for making 2 of the most incredible little girls...
