Great experience! I went for the first time for lunch and got the small jerk chicken with rice and peas and cabbage, fried dumpling, spicy patty, and corn meal porridge. (I like to try a lot of different dishes my first time eating at a place).

Jerk chicken: Amazing!! Seasoned to perfection. Freshly made. And the jerk sauce they give you on the size is actual jerk pepper sauce, not barbecue sauce, and is so good. Portion size was decent. I had a small piece left that I couldn’t finish so it was more than enough for me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Rice and peas: Traditional rice and peas. Very good as well. And they put plenty of the gravy of your choice over the rice! A lot of places I go to are stingy with the gravy. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2

Cabbage: The cabbage was ok. Fresh and most importantly, not soggy. I like a little more seasoning on my cabbage, but that’s just a personal preference. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fried dumpling: I was a little disappointed with the dumpling because it was too hard to eat. It doesn’t come with the meal so you have to pay .75 for it, which I don’t mind. I just don’t like paying extra for something that I can’t even eat. ⭐️⭐️

Beef patty: I didn’t too much care for the patty either. Don’t get me wrong, I still ate it. It just wasn’t anything special. It wasn’t spicy and compared to other spots I go to, it could’ve used more seasoning. ⭐️⭐️1/2

Porridge: After the chicken, this was the best thing I tried! No complaints whatsoever! I can’t even go back to eating oatmeal. It’s only porridge for me from now on. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Service: Amazing service!! My server started off a little cold but quickly warmed up when answering my questions. By the time I had finished ordering my meal, she had even cracked a few jokes. She was super nice and you could tell that she actually cared about your experience as customer. She even GUARANTEED me that I would be back, which I definitely will be! Come to find out, my sever was the manager. I think this place just became one of my favorite...

Let’s start out by addressing that the food was not an issue. BUT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE…..was definitely a DO NOT COME BACK!!. I ordered oxtails, cabbage and macaroni. The lady who served me and packaged my food was pleasant for the most part. The lil young girl with the little twist in her hair was the issue. From the time this girl saw me she had an instant attitude (idk why) cause she wasn't my server. My husband even questioned me to whether I knew this chic or not because of the bad looks and attitude she was given me. However I ignored the bad attitude and went home. Upon opening my food I saw that I was given the wrong order of Curry chicken, cabbage and white rice…so I drove back to the restaurant not even upset to get the correct order. Boom….walked in and the girls recognized me, my server retrieved my food that was placed in the back BUT the lil girl with those twist in her hair AGAIN gave me the nastiest attitude as if I was the one who bagged my own food to go..as if it was my error. The girl said to me “WE DON’T TAKE FOOD BACK SO PUT IT IN THE GARBAGE” (understandable on my end) Not once did she say we are sorry for the inconvenience, we apologize…..NOTHING but the same attitude she gave me from my first contact with them. Customer service will cost you business. I am from the islands just like her, she needs to remember she is now in American and not back home in Ja. I’ve been going to Flavors since 2020! They were my absolute favorite Jamaican spot (I say WERE for a reason) the flavors, the quantity, quality and overall great pricing! I don’t eat meat so I’m always there for their seafood dishes of all sorts! My favorite dish to grab is their King Fish with Rice and Peas and Cabbage, sometimes Mac&Cheese. Always my go to. Recently in 2022! I began to purchase their Conch soup and it’s delish! Though their pricing for their soups are very reasonable. The reasoning behind my average rating— is because since 2020, and we all know inflation has definitely upped the cost on everything consumerism. Their King Fish, went from $9 to $9.99 to $10.99, in the span of less than 2 years. If i’m not mistaken, it’s still a little more now. $13 with tax for a small sized plate, they also have large plates. Absolutely no problem with the up cost of their menu. If it’s worth it, i’m paying. The real issue is, when you begin to up your prices and somehow begin to serve way less on a dish than you would back then when it was only $9.

It’s okay to adjust prices for the sake of business staying afloat, profits and it being a fare wage living. It’s just disheartening when you’re paying more yet receiving way less.
